I hope I am helping someone out. MidAmerican Energy Company needs 3 Captains for corporate flying. Please see the website, and Career Builder reference number MA060117, and their website! Good luck! If you get a job out of this, would you let me know if my post has been helpful? Go for it!

Where does it say they fly Falcons?

Their web site shows the pay to be in low range for a 50EX, 63k up to 83k. Not enough when the FRACS pay more at the 5 year level.

Must be the reason for just 3000 hrs. total time in the add.

Yup, 83,700 for a DA50 Capt.....gimmie a break....I too thought the pay was pretty low. I also like the part that said " PIC must have appropriate type rating" This could be interpretted two ways. One is a no brainer, of course the PIC of a turbojet has to have a type. The other is "we will only hire Capts that are already typed". Is this a new dept., expanding operaton or what? seems strange to be looking for three pilots at once.

But then again I'm on my third Moosehead Lager so alot of things seem strange!

Cheers!

Stanton say should be 98.1K, which includes any bonus. 63K is below their Min Range, which is 66.1K. AvCrew says $78,767 is their average. Either way, industry standard is not being represented here, but this company's #s might be on par with the NBAA averages, as their #s are just as tainted with low-rents as AvCrews, thus not giving a true representation.

What do you expect working for the Buffet group. Look how he treated the guys at NetJets.:(

Taking a look at that, it is also a hiring range. A reasonable question would be what is a 5 year captain making.

wow mooshead. I love that stuff. I remember when we could only get it in maine.

Well Miss Kitty, I'm not too proud to send my resume' in, I just did! While the pay may be low by standards it is twice what I am making now.

I wish everyone would stop working cheap, sure does not help the rest that demand nothing less than what they are worth. If you start out low ball you will never make it up, don't expect a 20% increase the next year (someone will come in and undercut you).

As always WE (pilots) are our own worst enemy!!!!!! Why don't you offer to update the CP's logbook for the last ten years during the interview too.
You will probably be bitching within a year about how underpaid you are for a 50 driver. Just don't come crying here when it happens, you'll only have yourself to blame.

Let me give you guys a heads up....we are looking at ranges for our captains right now using a combo of the Stanton and Tower surveys. The range for our type of aircraft (G's /Falcon 900) has actually decreased over the last several years. Makes it tough to keep people moving ahead...

Yeah...oh...wait...I took a 15% pay cut when I came to this job so I could have 20% more money left at the end of the month...does that count?

This is just the end of the whip. In the late '90's/early '00's corporate pay went up because the airlines started paying what they should have been paying all along.

Now, corporate pay is sagging because the airlines have gutted their payrates. If you're a suit in charge if the aviation dept. why wouldn't you want to cut pay if your GV guys are getting paid what an AA 757 Capt. is making ($145k)?

We all know it takes more brains to fly a pt. 91 GV than an AA 757 ;) but that doesn't count on the bottom line. Expect more downward pressure on pay until the trend in the airlines reverses. That or the much anticipated pilot shortage occurs...TC

FRACS work alot more days a year than most corporate flight departments and usually fly many more legs per day.

Not saying its right though.

If you really want to complain, right your congressman/person to oppose/correct the new tax laws. I know of two flight departments that have cut all executive personal flying. Big chunk of their operations. now they're worried about losing planes/pilots.

You sound very excited about this job, MissKittyCat, and I'm sure you're just trying to help out, but the pay is WAY TOO LOW.
