Was wondering if it was realistic that I would be able to get through initial training for a type with the following experience.

2700 TT
250 Citation II (typed at Simuflite)
400 King Air PIC

Thanks for the advice

It's just an airplane...

It is my opinion that anyone can pass virtually any rating as long as they are confident in their own ability and give it 100%. Relax, and put forth the effort, and you will have no problem. Good luck.

RELAX

An airplane is an airplane. You've made it through at least one school, calm down and have confidence in yourself. Go into it with the mind set that you are going to learn everything you can. Study as much as you can, and realize you are going to have ups and downs in the sim. Trust the instructors to teach you what you need, and if you don't think they are, then speak up! Don't think of it as learning enough to pass the ride. Think of it as learning enough to safely fly the airplane, that is the professional approach. And if you can adopt it, the rest will take care of itself. Most importantly, HAVE FUN. When else will you be able to fly the Falcon on 1 engine in crappy weather at MTOW? Well, hopefully never, but enjoy the challenge. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Sorry forgot the most important info Falcon 900 initial training

Which model 900?

If it is a C or EX (all glass), the avionics will be your biggest hurdle, but being a young guy you will catch on fast. If it is a B model, then things will look even more familiar to you. Either way, it is a great flying plane, study hard, pay attention when you are flying the sim and you will do fine...

Good Luck!

You will have NO PROBLEM.
It is a little bit of work though, get the books ahead of time and start reading...know all the syatems ahead of school so you can concentrate on the sim stuff.

A 900 (ex at least) is one of the easiest aircraft you will ever fly. Just know whatever FMS you will be using cold. Thats the key. manage your automation and all is well!! -- it has a good autopliot, autothrottles, etc...

dont sweat it.

The training is set up for you to pass not fail. You have to go out of your way to fail the training. Relax and have fun...

900 Initial training...

Hey Pimp,
On the heels of the comments from the rest of the kids, I can agree with all of them. If you in fact have a class date, ask your new employer to contact the training center and get a set of books/cockpit poster, and have at it.

It's going to be like drinking from a fire hose, but stick with it, and show a good attitude, and you'll do fine. You will get to the saturation point to some degree, which is typical. You'll feel like it will never end, but take every opportunity to study w/your partner and the extra time after hours, and it'll be over before you know it.
Have fun.

P.S.

If you go to school in Dallas, don't get any BBQ sauce on the study material!!

BONUS POINTS to Gumby for the great segway into the BBQ topic from something as simple as a 900 training question!

If you do go to FSI-DFW definately treat yourself to a lunch or dinner at Boi Na Braza, it is a Brazilian BBQ (Steakhouse) on the west side of DFW. Expensive but well worth it... Just don't eat for a day before you go!

If you have a choice, take the TEB training center...
I know...its New Jersey, but the program is 100% better....
especially for initial.

I believe CAE SimuFlite will also have a Falcon 900 B/C/EX program later on this year. In Dallas for the BBQ fans...

TEB vs. DFW

I'm more partial to TEB myself...However, we cannot compete on the BBQ level. We could only hope to have that lovely "Dancing Establishment" on RT. 17S serving BBQ as well.
BBQ=Yummie!!

TEB

The other key point about TEB is that The Falcon Jet hangar is right down the street, and they will let you take a peek at the demonostrators if they are not on a trip, so you can take a look at the real thing and talk to the company pilots (All of them are great people). Plus, you can go across the airport to the Marketing headquarters and go to the gift shop and you can also get a tour of the place.

FYI, I heard someone saying that there is a big city close by, with stuff to do......Oh Yeah, NYC (And Jersey isn't that bad)!

AHHH...would that be....Satin Dolls??
some good meat in there...some would qualify for "aged" but hey....who needs to be picky...

For decent food and drinks in casual envorn...how bout' The Crows Nest or Steves Sizzlin' Steaks.....

yummmmmyyyy

TEB

Yes, Satin Dolls would be the locale, of which I speak. I drove past teh other day, and looked like the new season of the "Sopranos" was being shot.

I would be happy to stop by, and check out the menu however, I don't think BBQ would be found anywhere on it?

BooHoo....

school

have your memory items and limitations memorized before you get there. with that and switch location knowledge from the cockpit poster, you are half way home.
