Hey Guys/Gals,
If you fly a Falcon 2000 I would like to hear your thoughts about the aircraft, both pro's and con's. Things you like about it and things you'd like to see changed. I overlooked this aircraft in the new aircraft search and would like to include it.
Thanks again.
I have flown both a early and late 2000 for about 5 years now and have really enjoyed it. It does everything that my company has asked it to do with excellent results. In fact, management decided to replace them with the 2000EX EASy's so I guess they think it's a good machine as well. It operates out of a shorter runways and goes where we need it with 1 stop to Europe. Good systems for the most part, quiet cabin and cockpit, good apu, etc. 410, 430 are basic altitudes for operating. One of the major problems is climb rates in mid level altitudes especially with a/i on but I have flown several jets that have those issues as well. Support from Dassault has been very good. We had some problems with engine reserves (spares) but like most problems eventually worked its way out. Dispatchability has been nearly perfect.
FSI at TEB has some great guys (George P). School is good with no big surprises there especially now that DFW has been on line for a few years and Simuflite is expanding
We have Garrett TFE 738's on the 2000 classic. A/I definately kills the climb. Even without A/I,it's a slow climb in the mid-twenties to the low thirties, then improves dramatically in the mid-thirties where it will make 410 under almost any wt./temp. Great airplane other than that. I fly it for Netjets and even at our usage frequency they just keep going with rarely a mx issue. Very well thought out airplane.
Like Cush said - a/i kills the climb but it gets better as it gets higher. I think a couple years back, they (on the 2000 classic) revamped the fadec and the climb rate got a little better but it is what it is.
The ex is much better in terms of power and climb rate. In fact, the climb rate with a/i off and lighter weights can be uncomfortable to some passengers due to deck angle but......
