Fuel Burn: Long Range
1st 2000-2200
2nd 1800 (You can almost count on 4000 first two hours)
1600 from then on.
If you step climb, your burning 1300 at 470.
True range as advertised. We non-stop Kona to MAF. (3000) We've done it with no wind and landed with 1800 lbs in 6:58.
Honest, reliable, no issues. The ONLY negative I've ever encountered or shared with others is lack of reserve power in the climb from 200-300. If its hot, the climb gets meager. If you stay on the plus side of the curve its never an issue, add a minute or two to the climb.
The HUD generated mixed comments. In my opinion after 6 years behind it, I'd hate to ever fly without one. Don't think of it as a Cat II tool, we lower ours after engine start, and stow it after the parking brake is set. EVERY flight, no matter what the conditions are. It adds so much to every aspect of the operation, I'd consider it as essential as weather radar.
You'll get a lot of mixed comments, but I find most guys that don't like it haven't taken the time to use it to its full extent.
