Anyone know where I can gat a FALANT (Farnsworth Lantern color test) done in the central/southern FL area. I have contacted everyone I can think of to no avail. I don't mind traveling up to 200-300 miles either. I NEED this test soon.

My problem is that I have a very hard time passing the color vision part of the medical and want to attempt this test (my last three medicals I have eek'd by with the docs help). I know about the light gun signal test, but that is my last resort.

Thanks in advance!

I had the Farnsworth Dichotomous Test for Color Blindness done in 1999. I was living in Vero Beach Florida at the time and the closest place I could find to get it done was at the Brevard Eye Center. I believe it is located in Sebastian Florida. But a quick internet search should get you the number.
I had the same problems of barely "eeking" by the color test at my AME. After I passed the test the FAA sent me a letter stating that as long as I presented this letter that would satisfactorily demonstrate my ability to meet the color vision standards for any class of medical certificate. So when I go to get my medical every year I don't even take the color vision test anymore.
Good luck taking the test. You will do fine. If you have anymore questions just let me know.
Good luck,

FALANT Test

Speaking from experience, the light signal gun test is much easier than the falant. Plus, like the falant, once you pass it you never have to do the color vision portion of your medical again. It satisfies the FSDO and the Docs all at once.

Cheers and good luck.
