The way I understand it, 40K usd is for interior and paint only? You provide plane.

AN-2s are dirt cheap. I wouldn't dismiss this deal as being for just the upgrades. I've heard of them going for $20k cash, as is/ where is (Poland).

One little problem is that the FAA won't certify them with a Normal or Utility airworthiness certificate. If you're lucky, you'll be able to get it certificated under Experimental/ Exhibition, which is essentially useless.
There are also the issues of parts availability, insurance, and that ripping 90kt cruise speed!

Maybe because you have to figure out how to get the bloody thing from Poland to the US.:p

At 90 knots it will take a while. Trust me, I've gone across the Atlantic Ocean at 500 knots a lot and it's a long trip.

Wow, an AN-2 done up inside like a luxury bizjet... I think now I truly understand "cognitive dissonance."

hey if they make Hyundai's with interiors that resemble Lexus, then why not do the same with an AN-2?

Contrary to conventional wisdom, you CAN polish a turd!

Personally I think an AN-2 could be a lot of fun, if you have $40 Gs to burn. I'd take one over an Escalade anyday.
