I've heard reports in ops that Delta has hired a few ASA F/O's, recently one with a DUI or so. Are these just inflated stories from disgruntled applicants or if they are true, what kind total time did these folks possess? Worked for many years at the Big D in a non pilot role and cant get a call. What gives?

ASA Fo's hired by big D are probably full of military time... I know of one such person

Nope true as the day is long. Especially if your a female. They even hired a guy who has been on personal leave for about six months.

I have heard a couple of girl fos going over there. One with no 121 pic or mil. They must have a real apptitude for flying.

Interesting. So if true, did these folks have heaps of time? Meaning, 4000+ hours? Just trying to gather a bit of information. 5000TT and 19 years Delta service doesnt seem to do me any good. I want to start calling in some favors but want some facts to go on.

I'm applying to ASA. I just tried to call the number on the jobs page of their website to try and find a name etc. of who I could address a cover letter to. No luck, the number's voicemail box was full and I couldn't get through. Could someone PM me a name of who is in charge of hiring right now? Thanks.

Anyone... I dont care about the gender thing, experience is experience. Just want to know if the same standard is being consistently applied.

The one FO that I know is a female and did not have any 121 PIC or military. She was at ASA for about 2yrs+ and was a former Delta FA for 15 or so.

I know she is the type who just marched right into the CP office at Delta and pulled her own strings. Very motivated Woman, not afraid to go talk to someone cold and see where it leads. I'm sure she had plenty of names to throw around when she walked herself in.

Her looks didnt hurt either, but she is always a professional.

It does not matter if you have military/civilian time, or if you are male/female, or have 200/4000 hours. It is who you know!!!! Connections is everything in this business.

B4 this gets completely out if hand, if you previously worked at DL is some capacity then you would be given a preferential interview. Sure, as in any company, knowing someone in the back office never hurt.

No, Daddy is an old timer there.
