And if I did something this stupid, I would have hire an attorney and hope I could fly again some day.

Good ole boy Jimmy Inhofe. How come this doesn't surprise me at all.

Article says he knew the runway was closed but landed anyway. This guy is probably the biggest tool in the congress. What's sad is that he is a hero to many airline pilots...Says something about the judgement of these folks.

He should get Jail time if he indeed admits to knowing the runway was closed.

Congressman gets remedial training for almost killing 3 construction workers by deliberately landing on a closed runway. He gets remedial while an airine crew gets an EMERGENCY REVOCATION for missing their TOD. Such BS.
What's even bigger BS is that this story wasn't broadcasted on any of the big networks. How come this below hasn't been applied to him? What is the official FAA reasoning for letting him walk away?

Reminder:

91.13

Careless or reckless operation.

(a) Aircraft operations for the purpose of air navigation. No person may operate an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.
(b) Aircraft operations other than for the purpose of air navigation. No person may operate an aircraft, other than for the purpose of air navigation, on any part of the surface of an airport used by aircraft for air commerce (including areas used by those aircraft for receiving or discharging persons or cargo), in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.

He's only a hero to the experienced crowd because he was leading the charge, blowing hard about being able to ground loop his airplane as good at 75 as at 45.

If you ever did something this stupid you don't belong behind the controls of an airplane ever, ever again.

I agree but unlike the Congressman, I'd still need an attorney for criminal charges. The Congressman is obviously above the law and the regs.
