The FAA is on the verge of hitting skymaster owners and operators with a massive series of supplemental inspection requirements. The Skymaster owners and pilots association has been all over this for the past year and a half. The recent crash has been a hot topic, and may may serve to accelerate the process. Many of the inspections that the FAA is seeking to impose are unnecessary and inappropriate, looking for the wrong things in the wrong places. As yet, no determination has been made that these inspections have any connection to the mishap, or that they could have caught, or prevented the failure.
