Sorry it took so long to reply. I had to ask him. When he was in college a DE told him to report it on his medical. That is the only reason they know about it.

So it seems it was an AME, not a DPE. In any event, this will not be a problem because it wasn't a so called Motor Vehicle Action. In your friends case they will just look at this and do nothing. But another MVA will be very serious, possible revocation of his certificates.
 
Forget the lawyer.

Go find your carrier's HIMS representative--they will know what to do and how to proceed.
 
"your friend" seems like he is to irresponsible to be flying airplanes.
