When would the appropriate time be then?bustinmins said:I think a strike by the AFA right now would equal disaster for US Airways and would definitely harm UAL. I understand their anger and frustration but I don't really feel that this is the appropriate time for a strike.

Well isn't that the point? If management can see that they are not going to take it laying down and the possible outcome then surely thay may get their head out of their a$$ and take note that they have to stop this $hit. They can't keep cutting wages to the point they are talking about.bustinmins said:I would have to say when that action wouldn't cause the Chapter 7 of an airline. I'm all about labor taking a stand - trust me.

When a strike would benefit the FAs...This would clearly not benefit FAs for at least US air. The company would go tits all the way up and then where would they be?Air Biscuit said:When would the appropriate time be then?
I believe that self-help is allowed after a paycut is enforced per the 1113 or whatever process.rattler said:Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they just "vote to approve a strike". Or better put, the members voted to give the power of a strike to their MEC's.
So they still need to be released right?
Who's going to release them? Certainly not the current NMB.
The current NMB is hardcore anti-labor, and pro managment. It's the Republican way. They think $30K/yr is too much for an FO on an RJ, why would they release mainline FA's that make much more?
The national Railway Labor Act, which requires intervention of a federal mediator and a "cooling off period" if good-faith negotiations reach an impasse, has been replaced by the bankruptcy code, Friend (AFA) said.sweptback said:I believe that self-help is allowed after a paycut is enforced per the 1113 or whatever process.

I think the F/A's should all strike and if they do, it would be nice to see some of you 121 people join them at the picket line, "brothers and sisters together."
