Just wanted to ask the guys already working for ExpressJet a few questions:
1. How long is reserve?
2. What base is most junior? IOH, EWR, or CLE?
3. How many set days off a month on reserve?
4. Paid for training?
5. How does everyone commute to work? Non-rev or jump seating? (just curious because I heard you have to pay to non-rev)

Thanks a lot for the help and info!

1. How long is reserve?
i would say anywhere from 6mos-1.5 yrs depending on the base you are assigned and how much expansion we do or flowbacks return to cal (both provide upgrades which would get you off reserve quicker)

2. What base is most junior? IOH, EWR, or CLE?

ewr, then iah, then cle
3. How many set days off a month on reserve?
11 days off permonth
4. Paid for training?
no..the company pays your hotel (dble occupancy) and you get a check to cover your meals/expenses in training,,you get on the payroll after you pass your proficiency check at the end of sim training
5. How does everyone commute to work? Non-rev or jump seating? (just curious because I heard you have to pay to non-rev)

i dont commute, but most who do jumpseat..it costs 12.50 each way domestic to write a pass..we take unlimited jumpseaters and cal will only take the number of jumpseaters as they have jumpseats per plane (ex..737-500 has 2 jumpseats..they take 2 jumpseaters...the 737-300 has one they only take one, etc)

hope this helps and good luck

Actually, CLE has become more junior than IAH, actually, let me rephrase that, CLE is SOON to become more junior than IAH...as IAH is/currently is, the most senior in the system.

You get check for $1,470 ish while in training which is for Per Diem.....Oh about 2 weeks into training.

And for that reason they shouldn't bother asking questions and take whatever comes their way regardless like pay or work rules? Lighten up Frances.....or should I say Ream.

Upgrades now are right at 4 years and will probably stay in that range for the next 2 years, give or take 3+ months. After that it's a complete unknown as we'll stop taking jets at that time and the last of the CAL furloughs should be gone. No jets = no upgrades. All that can happen to create upgrades will be pilots leaving after that assuming we don't place an order for new equipment or take advantage of our 100 EMB-145 options.

With the crap the company is giving us about scope in our negotiations I think it's a pretty safe bet that they have something up their sleaves that will create some growth down the line. Who knows what it'll be though.

you can suck my c-o-c-k, and btw, how was that informative picket the other day? Feet sore? 9%, well above industry average.

No one in last class held CLE, but some did in 4/26 class, EWR and IAH are equally junior.
Junior CA is #1512 junior FO is #2379
