OK, anyone know why the new paint schemed ExpressJet was sitting in ATL for the last couple of days? Of course the 'regular' XJs have always been there, but this was the new one, sitting at the FBO.

Possibly NCAA related. XJT does a lot of basketball charters, although I dont know if ATL is hosting any games right now...

Maybe they picked up or dropped off Georgia Tech's basketball team? They lost to UNLV on friday. Or its broke

Nah...DL (&Skywest) is gonna get rid of (us) ASA as soon as we get a contract! So ExpressJet will take over the 80% of DL flying that ASA does.

Identical to the Continental branded ones for the most part. Some mods are taking place but for the most part they are the same. I'm sure the 7 footers enjoy row 19.
K. I wasn't sure if they were going to take seats out and make them "nicer" or just leave them cattle style....I guess they aren't exactly specializing in luxury or anything.

From XJT's management folks, re-configuring a XRJ into a more "corporate" style interior would cost more than just buying a new Legacy fresh from the jungle. The ExpressJet Corporate Charter division seems to be after the college teams, they also fly for some NASCAR teams (DEI I believe is one of them), and for moving large (errrr well up to 50 at least) groups of people for corporations. College teams have been chartering for years through various sources. A company out of CAK does this type of work using a bunch of DO-Jets. The key here is economy of scale. If XJT owns 274 EMB aircraft, the 15 devoted to charter op's enjoy the same lowered cost of overhead that the rest of the fleet has due to the number of aircraft as a whole. There are not a whole lot of charter operators that can offer 37-50 seats to the market as it is, and there are NO other charter providers who have a 274 aircraft fleet of buying power to support a division flying 15 aircraft.

From the outside looking in, it seems like XJT charters has a good thing going, I just hope that the branded flying as ExpressJet Airlines works out as well.

ASA has been running charters for years , mainly with the CRJ200. SEC men's and women's basketball and baseball college teams mostly. Go SEC!

DEI operates a fleet of EMB 120's and are getting a 145 soon so they are not using XJET. There were 3 XJET planes in JQF on Thursday but only 2 moved. The 3rd was still sitting there today. The other 2 took the Red Bull Nascar team to ATL.

OMG OMG OMG I saw one of Expressjet's new livery planes in GTR a couple weeks ago!! They are taking over the world!!!!!! ASA is closing its doors in one week!

I know that the addition of XM radio is new on the new paint scheme planes....don't know if that will be fleet wide or not.

It will be for all of the Expressjet branded flying and charter aircraft. Not sure about the 10 for DAL and no XM for Coex planes.
