Hey man, I just did a trip with a captain who does some of the interviews, and she said there is no way to easily just get right to the top of the pile, but that the 121 experience is a huge plus. She said those people are getting through a bit faster. Just keep on keepin' on and they'll get to you. I tried to put in a bit of a word, but I don't know if it will help or not.

Later,
Mike

I applied in August, and did not hear anything from them until December.

Sorry if this is a rehashed question: What's the seniority of the bases? How long before you can hold IAH? Do you have to do IOE out of the junior base, or can you do it out of a closer one to home, if you prefer?

Respectively: No, and not that I'm aware of. They stick you wherever an IOE captain is available, AFAIK. I did mine out of my eventual base, but that was just coincidence. You'll still be provided positive space travel and hotel rooms as necessary during IOE, though.

How long is it currently taking to here back after you apply, is it still 3-4 months?

thanks
If you know someone, not long. I sent a CFIs stuff in and he interviewed a week later. I don't know about otherwise.

Good luck!

No shortage of 400 hour CFI's applying if they are taking 3-4 months to get back to you.

So much for the pilot shortage.

Actually most of the people in the class I was in last summer had 2000+ hours. But as far as applicants go, you may be correct.

400 hour CFI's? What are their actual mininums to hire someone at Express? I know the website says it changes, but does anyone have some firm numbers?

I know two guys (both SIC's in a king air) who have been given interviews. The first had an ATP with about 1600 hours and about 500 or so multi. No internal rec's, and he got an interview in about 2 weeks. The second guy (1000 TT/400 multi) just got an interview date today after applying about 4 weeks ago.

Does having gates open at MCI make it easier to live in KC and work for Xjet?Im unfamilier with the regional world but wouldn't mind working for XJet sinceI already live in KC. Any suggestions?
