wow I will pass it along to him. I think he was worried about the branded flying for ExpressJet and I dont think he is in a hurry to upgrade. I know he is still in the military as an intel officer for the Navy Reserve so there is some cash there. What is upgrade time looking like at expressjet?

You can't go off of what upgrade times are now. When I was hired at AWAC, they were telling us 8-10 years for upgrade. It's been as low as 2.5 years since then. We've lost 100 pilots so far this year and they're anticipating another 100 before the year ends. We are short staffed and reserve won't be long. It's a good place to be if you're going to be sitting at a regional for a while.

Roughly 23 months from hire date to obtaining a captain award, assuming one is cool with being based in LAX. Add a month or three for training and OE.

Like MusicMan wrote, though, that's right now. If one were hired today, two years provides plenty of time for significant fluctuation, one way or the other.

My vote is for Air Wisconsin or Express Jet.

You have some lifers at Air Wisconsin but only about a page full of them. The rest are ashamed to be there for over 6.5 years. Everyone from the second page on has their stuff out and wants to get out of dodge.

Express Jet will develop lifers if the branded flying works. Nothing wrong with that!

Long live CoEx, I mean ExpressJet!!!

Everything I have heard so far is very positive. Full flights and happy passengers. Dollar beer is a hit. There was a huge effup at the beginning of the month that caused several cancellations, but that was apparently computer related and has been fixed.

From what I understand, we have a pretty low "break even" number, and we are smashing it.

The Charter deal is pretty dry right now. Delta is going great.

If you haven't heard it enough, thank you so much branded and delta guys for kicking ass. You hold the company in your hands and are doing a great job. Again. Thank you!

I like how a three year upgrade is now considered "light years".

Eventually the attrition will slow down as CAs are leaving, then the upgrades will stay awhile getting their PIC turbine time, thus slowing down movement until the next exodus. So, many junior FOs can anticipate a while before upgrading.
