* I live in the ALB area so what would be the chances of EWR or CLE right away?

* Do you apply to the charter separately or is it the same seniority list?

* How long on res and what are the junior bases? Time to upgrade? QOL etc.?

*Any other info greatly appreciated.

Yes I did a search just looking for more and current info>

You could get EWR or CLE right out of the gate, anyone who says you'll only get west coast is just wrong, my 2 friends got EWR right out of training within the last month or so.

charter is seperate you apply for it, but for FOs in charter, they could hold CA if they wanted to, so it will be awhile before you get it.

RES maybe 6 months in EWR/CLe for FOs, West coast I heard it was a month or two, upgrade sub-2 years but plan on going west coast, just announced 80 more upgrades for NOV/DEC so we will see how long the upgrade drops and where they go.

How do you apply for the charter side?

The charter flying is SUPER senior. You can apply for it once you have the seniority (right now about 10+ years with the company). In other words, only internal candidates with a TON of seniority can apply.

The company will ask for resumes from all crew members who are interested. As previously posted, charter goes *extremely* senior. Expect to be here two plus years, and have a squeaky clean record, before getting a shot at charter as an FO.

Charter goes very senior and they hire internally from already hired FO's and CA's. I would agree with Flyboy though, I just finished recurrent and ran into some new hires. They were all being sent to CLE.

We only have 1, maybe 2 aircraft doing charter currently. I think there are only about 20 pilots total in the pool right now out of 3000 total pilots. The whole charter thing sounded good when it started, but it quickly fizzled because they dont want to run it as an on demand charter(not sure how much on demand for 50 seats there is), they want to run it with longer term contracts figured out months in advance. Also 8 of the airplanes marked for charter went to Delta.

You would stand an excellent chance of getting either. Nobody seems to want Newark (because of the uncommutable schedules) or Cleveland (because of the total movement stagnation), so you'll likely get one or the other straight away. Even if you are exiled to the west coast, you'll be able to bid the base you want within a few months. Reserve at EWR seems to be 2-4 months right now. I've been on reserve at EWR since late June, and I'll hold a relief line for Oct. I probably could have held one this month, but I wanted weekeds off so I bid reserve. I don't commute, so reserve isn't all that bad for me. Don't know much about CLE, but from what I hear movement is super slow there. Junior bases are LAX and ONT right now. Upgrade is hovering right around 2-2.5 years depending on base. QOL is excellent here, at least as far as regionals go. I came here from TSA, and its no comparison. Good luck with your application!

I think when college basketball ramps up again we will see more flying on the charter side since they are dropping some branded routes (i.e. CRP-AUS)

I interviewed yesterday at XJet. We were told that they don't have any classes scheduled right now as they are caught up with training. I wasn't given a date for the next class but was told it will probably be before the end of the year to cover normal Captain attrition.

ALB-EWR will probably an easy commute via plane/car. Plus, the Q400 will have a nice jumpseat and never MTOW restricted.

Anyone know how long it's taking to get a call back? I applied this week, tuesday, how long should I expect to wait to get a call?
