I work for Mesa on the ERJ145. I applied to XJ a few weeks ago, but no contact yet. Any one know how long it usually takes?

There is no rhyme or reason to how they call folks. Sit tight. Besides, we're supposed to get the specifics on our new operation sometime in January. Good time to get in. We've been running at about 2 years for upgrade.

Yeah, last night I listened to a voicemail from a buddy of mine who's flies xjt and mentioned something about it but I couldn't make it out. He said something about Ontario? Can anyone elaborate what the latest rumor is? BTW it's good to see the contract has improved over there.

Long live XJT!!! :pimp:

Rumor for now is branded flying with "X" number of 145s. Its not really a rumor in as much as we just don't know all the details yet. As I said, January should clear things up.

ONT will be the new small base. Idea is to serve cities throughout the West with 50 seat RJs that airlines with bigger planes can't do profitably. Who knows, maybe it'll work. Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 10% of our total ops will be there. That would be about 200-300 pilots. But most likely will go super-senior. I'm a 7 year CA here, and I may not hold ONT. So if I were you, I would base your decisions about working here on the fact that EWR CLE or IAH will be where you will spend the next few years.

But most likely will go super-senior. I'm a 7 year CA here, and I may not hold ONT.

What is your reasoning for this? I know alot of west coast commuters (myself included) but I don't know that they are all super senior... Plus the fact the IAH/EWR may still be an easier commute for some west cost guys may play into things.

Word is to look for a SMF, SAN, and AUS base as well.

I think he's right. Initially, whatever domicile opens in the West will go senior for all the folks that live in that area. If the pixie dust and magic potions work, they'll grow the operation and at some point the West may not bo so uber-senior. This crap is going to happen fast. The last 145 is pulled at the end of June 2007. I don't think we'll get either of the two CPA bids we have outstanding. That means up to 54 145s doing "our" flying by the summer. Things will be very interesting in 2007.

I got junior manned last week.......

Was it a reassigned beyond pairing termination or were you called at home on a day off to come fly? The latter is the only definition of junior manning. Also, you can deny ANY junior manning assignment for any reason. A pilot can only accept a junior man assignment if he is AVAILABLE. I don't know about you but, I don't think I have ever been available on my day off.

how hard is it to get CLE?

Live in CLE and work for comair commuting to cvg? How hard is it to get CLE? If you get EWR how long usually to bid back to CLE? Working for comair really blows these days, got to get out of here. Willing to start over again for QOL..

Also what is the website to appy on? Went to the homepage and filled out online form, is that what they are currently using?

Thanks

Thats pretty much the way to apply and if you know anyone here than they can help speed the process up. I just did it for a couple people. CLE is the most senior base but you could get it right out of training but expect to be on reserve for a while. Its a good company and most people really enjoy it hear. Good luck which ever path you choose.
