So with the new contract I just had serval questions if some can help me out. For those of you wondering I curretly work for a good regional so no I am not one those who is just looking to fly a shiney jet for no money but however........I rather take QOL over pay.

1. whats the upgrade time?
2. What type of flying benefits do you guys get on coex and CA?
3. What type of health benefits do you guys have?
4. What is the most junior base?
5. Do you guys have commute clause?
6. How are you compensated during training?

Hey thanks for your help in advance.

1. Upgrade times: They told us 3 yrs two months ago in indoc. I've heard anywhere from 2-5 years depending on you talk to.

2. What type of flying benefits? Parents and one travel companion have unlimited pass travel (this starts after 6 mo of employment, they get 2 per month until then). 10 buddy passes per year that can be used on XJET, CAL or any codeshare. I thought this was pretty much standard everywhere.

3. Health? Just regular health insnc. and dental I guess. Didn't pay too much attention to this, I think the dental was optional. I beleive we also can continue to get 1/3 pay for up to a year if we lose a medical for some reason.

4. Junior base is newark.

5. I think they put a clause in the new contract that alleviates you of responsibility if you miss 2 flights and made a reasonable effort to board them. I wouldn't want to test that one out though....

6. They give you a $1500 dollar per diem check at the beginning and pay for your hotel.

1. whats the upgrade time?

2-4 plus years. I was told 3-4 years during training. Some people have been saying possibly as low as two years. Unknown at the moment. Depends on many factors, like CAL hiring, aircraft deliveries, new aircraft, expanded flying. All which are up in the air at the moment, at least on the pilot side.

2. What type of flying benefits do you guys get on coex and CA?

Covered well below.

3. What type of health benefits do you guys have?

Blue Cross/Blue Shield EPO/PPO medical. Four different options there. CIGNA HMO or MetLife PPO Dental. Vision Service Plan. Personal Accident and Employee Life insurance. Flexible spending account. Also union benefits as well.

Not asked, but we have 401(k) with varied company match and varied company contribution (B-plan) which came from the new contract.

4. What is the most junior base?

Depends. Seems like lots of people have been sent to CLE lately before getting advanced to IAH or EWR. But CLE is very senior (little movement). I think this is due to the senior guys in CLE getting upgrades. Little growth in CLE, but plenty in IAH... so if you want IAH (biggest base) you can probably get it in a reasonable amount of time.

5. Do you guys have commute clause?

Yes. You must be listed for two flights with an open seat (including cockpit jumpseat if you qualify) to get you to your destination before show time. This can be on any airline.

6. How are you compensated during training?

$1492 check after the first week. This is a per diem check. Hotel is paid for, as is breakfast each morning. You can get by if you have a little money saved up and don't go crazy while in IAH. You won't start getting paid until after your PC. But, your first check won't come for up to two weeks after that.

Thank you very much you guys been a lot of help.

While you guys are anserwring question do you have prefential bidding or line bidding for schduels? I think this is the last question I have hopefully.
