Interviewed today got the job.

Words from Dawn D. in the training dept. I hope I get this mostly right its been a long day and i'm into beer #2.

The hiring mins. are still 600tt and 100multi. if you meet the mins. on the online application you will be in the interview pool. however, competative times are between 2000 and 4000 total time and 121 experience.

APPLY ONLY ONCE! AND ONE TIME ONLY! AGAIN APPLY ONE TIME AND ONE TIME ONLY.

It is taking about 4 months to process and if you apply twice your info goes back to the bottom of the list. ie: YOUR 4MO. WAIT STARTS OVER!
This is how the system works. you will get a call, but they are giving preference to the furloughed Indy and chicagoexpress, and whoever else is out there right now.

Hope this helps
good luck
I'm goin to take a nap

Good job to you Sir!!!! My friend just got hired last month and he is very excited about it.

Good Luck Mr. Jetlink!!!

Express takes heat for being a "Regional" but it really is a great place to work. The people are friendly and the new contract isn't too bad. Good luck to all who apply. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

A friend called and told me this as well. I applied in October. Updated in Dec. Did the furlough link when it first opened. Had a problem, and reapplied a couple of more times over the next couple of weeks still getting the same problem. Did this because Dawn told this friend of mine that it wasn't coming through without that area filled in, even though the system deleted it on its own. It would have been nice if Coex had made this info known to those of us who applied months ago and also as furloughs, because it really pi$$es you off only to see people who applied 2 weeks ago getting an interview before you. Plus, Dawn returned a call of my own concerning this very issue, and it took me two weeks of regular calls to actually speak with her after her message indicated that I should call her back. I used to think highly of Coex, but unfortunately after this rather infuriating experience, that opinion has changed. I will be proud to carry my picket sign with the ASA men and women--they, at least, were honest, professional, and courteous. I know it isn't fair to judge a company based on one exposure, but this one has been so frustrating and aggravating. The fact that there is no mention that if you make any changes or call into the people that your chances for an interview are now delayed even longer is ridiculous. I wish everyone who has been hired there the best of luck and congratulations!!!! Even though this is a negative post, I'm a big boy and I'll get over it, but I do wish you all the best. See you on the radio!

Well I won't go to your extreme but I will echo your frustrations. I am an Indy furloughee and have recieved nothing. I am frustrated because many co-workerd of mine have - they are my first choice so I really want this. I have jumped through the hoops and resubmitted due to a sub-standard online system. The next step will be faxes and emails but I'm afraid that will antagonize them. It's been over 1 month since my first application and I know many who recieved a phone call within days, other will be starting class shortly.

Oh well, it's a cruel business all around!

So, let me get this straight. First you listened to what a friend told you (never a good start).

Second, Dawn did call you back personnaly and you spoke directly to her (even if it took a while to talk to her)

Lastly, Dawn told you that by calling your chances for an interview have now been delayed.

Quite frankly something does not add up here. If that's what she actually told you during your conversation, that just does not sound correct.

To imply that we are dishonest, unprofessional and not courteous is certainly a bit strong and no doubt you made the right decision to go with ASA. You will be happy and so are we.

I too am a little on the frustrated side as well as many other people who are just finding this out. I applied in Oct. and after three months of no phone call I decided to try to log on with my reference number and password to update(already met the mins just wanted to check on app). It told me I had an invalid reference number so I called the phone number given on the website for problems and they advised me that my app is there and being reviewed. Did this at the end of Jan. so I guess I have been pushed back a few months. There is no warning given.

It just really sucks that the people who check up on their app and are really interested are being pushed back, while guys who apply and basicly forget about they applied there (not all) are getting calls first. I really want to work there, just getting a little frustrated. I will continue to rot at Eagle until I get the call I guess. Good luck to everyone applying.

Any new hires from Feb. want to contribute to how their interview experience was, and is this what Dawn has said as well? So if the 3 months expires dont re-apply, just wait it out?

Was anything mentioned about updating your resume? Does this reset it at all?
or is it if you resubmitt after the 3 months is up that matters,,.....

Classic...

The hiring practices of the airline I did not get hired with are unjust and foul

The hiring practices of the airline I did get hired with are perfect and good.

Have fun at the other airline...I for one am happy you went there.;)

Oh and another thing...What does your experience with HR and how Dawn runs the hiring dept have to do with the pilots and crew of XJT and how courteous, professional, and honest they are?

Screw you.

AJL,

good question. I was about to update my online app. But the original post said "reapply". So I am assuming that means starting the whole app process from scratch, and not simply updating your resume that they already have on file. BUT I might be wrong. Can anyone shed light on this?

yes your app will be reset if you call, update, or reapply. just hang tight. only reapply if you interviewed and was turned down.

also what if we haven't attached our resume yet? With that reset it? Suddenly I feel like I am defusing a bomb with this application....be very careful.

guys its not like they have an army of people going through the app's...it takes time..and they're very busy. To say you've changed your opinion because of phone tag..hmmmmm

So, if I applied, how do I know that everything went through correctly? I don't mind waiting the 60-90 days as long as I am waiting for a potential call. But how do I know they actually received my app with no problems?

I wouldn't normally be this paranoid, but ExpressJet is where I want to be for a very long time, and I don't want to screw up this chance.

Thanks.

Same here....I resubmitted my resume; an updated one last week and havent had my appointment date change yet.....but then again who knows if it has changed and i dont know about it...

what exactly is the apointment date? I applied back in Oct. and havn't heard crap. It's kind of anoying......

Before I say anything else--- I like the idea that ExpressJet is sending out a helping hand to our brothers (and sisters) who have fallen on some hard carrer luck. As an XJT employee I welcome these guys.

That being said-- It pisses me off when people who are furloughed have that "you owe me" attitude. ExpressJet and the other airlines doing the same(AWAC?) cannot and will not take every regional pilot on the street and give them a job. People will still get hired off the street, and Indy Air/ Chicago Express people might get passed on.

Preferential Interviewing is just that.. an Interview!. they still are hiring people that they want to fly with.

If you are furloughed and want to come to ExpressJet, please do so with a smile on your face and an open mind beacause the other option isnt going to be nearly as pleasant.

IF you are going to come here and be pissed off at the world-- Stay home -- The Newark crew room is dark and dingy enough with out your whining.

Good Luck to all those who want to be here-- We'd love to have you.

Thanks for bearing with me-- I feel better now.

You guys act like you have a sense of entitlement because you applied to XJT. Well guess what? Sometimes that's the way things go. I applied at an airline and heard back from them in 4 months and a buddy of mine had his walked in and heard back a week later. (Before me) Am I bitter? No. That's life. Also you furloughed guys should be happy they are giving you a chance. I wouldn't hire a furloughed pilot that has the potential to go back to his old job.

Capt. overs, is that really 50,000? or a typo

Hey dude's i wasnt trying to set off a war on the board. I was just relaying info that was told to us in the interview, and was acctually told to post. just tryin to help everyone out. I know that i needed the help, and thank Ejet for doin that.

Please email me ASAP at [email protected] with your name, contact information, employee number, ALPA number (if applicable), airline, etc, and I will ensure your stuff gets looked at by the Senior Director of Flight Operations if you a furloughed pilot, especially from Indy. This offer goes for any other furloughed pilots (Indy, C8, etc) as well.

With that said, please do not come to your interview with even a hint of an attitude. No recruiting process is perfect but our company has bent over backwards making things as streamlined as possible for the Indy furloughees (and soon to be furloughees).

I'm sorry you have had a negative experience to date but I guarantee that won't be the case when you come to your interview.

Good luck. And thanks to the guys who gave me a lift from IAD to HPN yesterday.

Interesting...

I applied Oct 5, interviewed Jan 19, class date Feb 21. Hang in there boss!

Alright guys, listen up. Yeah, my origianal post was inflammatory, I was frustrated. For those of you who make assumptions, I think Expj owes me NOTHING---READ THAT...NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Get off the friggin' attitude high horse. I appreciate the fact that they offered preferential interviewing, something which many Expj guys and others on the outside weren't pleased about. BUT, it was the process of applying that has become monstrously frustrating. Dawn said she received my resume, by the way, and it was one that I had to manually fax in after I gave up with the PeopleScout system. She called today actually saying that she will be scheduling me for an interview...in March. If someone applies in October and still hasn't heard anything because she never received anything from PeopleScout, only the hard copy I sent in, and others are getting called who applied two weeks ago, then there is indeed a problem with that system. You can only pull your hair out some many times before there is none left. So, for those of you who think I am bitter because Coex didn't hire me, THEY JUST CALLED ME FOR AN INTERVIEW IN MARCH, so think before you assume that your all-seeing wisdom is correct. My frustration is over the system they have set up. And for those of you who think I'm being a prima dona, well, I won't waste the effort in responding. If you don't get it, you don't get it. Find another thread to post on. My "attitude" is one of thankfullness that they offered to do this in the first place. That offer shows great respect and professionalism.

Yeah, ASA treated me well and nearly knocked my door down. That gave a nice impression. The pilots I have met outside of the GO have made it very clear that we are welcome and they have a "home" for us there. I wish that home could have been Expressjet, and still could be, although I'm taking ASA now due to family near ATL, etc...Was my mind made up before this rant was written, not really actually. To everyone at Expressjet, you are a great group of pilots, a few of whom are good friends. My bitching was over the process, nothing else. Oh, and by the way, the original call that Dawn made to me was in response to mine, and she said she had no record of my original application, although the PeopleScout person said it was in the system, nor did she have the Furloughed Pilot Application. This began the frustration. To everyone who got/gets hired, congrats!!!! I know you will be happy with your choice. To Paul Smith on the previous page: SCREW YOU!!!!!

Did Dawn tell you that updating a resume does the same as calling People Scout or are you making an assumption?
