What a mess, a COEX XRJ flying in new, ugly Delta colors and old, ugly Delta?Chautuaqua/Republic, whatever ERJs now flying for CAL, some in coex colors and most not...but all hanging out in the "litterbox"- IAH hardstands.

It doesnt look all that better in person, but oh well, its better than staying in CAL colors and scribbling "Operated By Chautauqua Airlines".

I guess my paycut must be the reason they can afford it. $40,000 a year as a 4th going on 5th year FO...f#cking ridiculous. Where's the good, Delta?

heres a idea paint them all white and let people guess what airline they are on and save the money for the fuel weight and give all your employees the money improve moral instead of sucking up with fancy paint (like all the passengers check that when they are surfing the net to fly somewhere) Its all about cheap not pretty

I take it that you stood up as the strong union pilot saving the profession! Your a piece of $hit! Tell me how you and your company have raised the bar at all for this industry?

Delta's planes will get the new paintjob as they are already scheduled for regu;ar paint jobs! This is over a 4 or 5 year period!

We haven't caved on scope every time it's come up. Even as an RJ pilot I am dissapointed at how DALPA has given in on scope. Of course they held strong on the 100 seaters... at pay rates less than regional 70 seat rates. As far as raising the bar, it won't be known until we take a vote. But rest assured I won't compromise on my vote.

Did you know how much money I just got (after taxes), along with DL filling up my 401K ($44,000 each year) for last year and this year? I got over $80,000 after taxes, just because I took a pay cut and we went into BK. My 401K is now way up there, I have a lot of cash, and I can now almost hold B738 captain, thanks to 2300 captains leaving for their pension. Wow, it really wasn't that bad. Even the bottom furloughed guy got over $100,000 total including the 401K additions. How did you do?

The E190 pay rates aren't great, but the E195 pay rates are better, and if we got one of those it would likely be the E195 due to the hot and high conditions in SLC in the Summer. And, we are getting new RJs (SkyWest 76 seaters) and replacing 50 seaters one for one (as told to analysts in the last conference call). A lot more 50 seaters will be leaving shortly, and Comair will likely be sold.

We actually have our own paint shop, right next to our huge mx hangers near rwy 26L at ATL. We do it all ourselves, unlike USAir, who flies most of their planes to Roswell, NM or Macon, GA---which costs money for gas and getting crews positioned. The new paint job also will only take 3 days to paint the tail, whereas the last paint job with the swishy tail took 11 days.

It always amazes me that people still think "new paint" costs something. They go in for heavy checks and they get repainted anyway. Sheese...and pilots are the "smart" ones.

And that's helping whom, exactly?

"Yeah, we stuck it to those regional bastards...we kept the 100 seat flying where it belongs!"

"What the rate?"

"Damn near Skywest's rate...but we kept the 100 seat scope by golly!"

Typical arrogant response. You know from the past I've supported the DAL pilots all along, and still do. But I'm disappointed in what DALPA let happened to scope. It's opened the door for a DCI nightmare. When DAL was on the ropes you were all about supporting other pilots and stapling lists, etc. Now it's "we're doing better and you're not ..." You've shown your true colors with the emergence.

I don't know what side you're coming from but I'm glad DAL kept the 100-seaters. I'd rather start there and work up than work up to it and be at the top of my career. I've said all along that ML growth means opportunity for everyone.

At these rates, it isn't "opportunity for everyone". Maybe for you, but not for a senior ASA/CMR/XJT pilot. It takes too long to get back to even, not to mention the money lost getting back to even and the lost opportunity for that money to compound over time. Throw in lost vacation and schedule, and it isn't that simple for all of us.....

And maybe someday you will quit falling for the mainline propaganda.... I haven't been disappointed by DALPA because that is what I expect from them.... someday you learn to quit blindly supporting them....

Do really expect us to get much when DALPA has agreed to lower 100 rates than our current 70 seat rates? Put down the Herndon crack pipe..... Your "brothers" at the mainline have compromised....
