That has been floating around for at least a month now and no formal announcement. Believe it when you see it.

If it's true, congratulations to them. They'll bring "DCI Average" payscales up a bit.

I would tend to doubt that. ASA is just holding down the gate space out there until mainline can utilize the gates for overseas stuff.

Because ASA is in contract negotiations and cannot be rewarded. Plus, everybody already knows all the future DCI growth will go to the SkyWest side.

What for? You make it sound like Skywest is a non-union airline that flies CRJ900s for 50 seat pay!

The going rumor has been SLC for DAL for a long time now. It hasn't been announced, and our management hasn't said for sure which airline it is. They have said in conference calls, etc. that we have a deal for 10 145 XRs with a major carrier that will be announced very soon. This is the first i've heard of LAX though.
Who knows?

Never said we "have" a deal. Said they were "working" on a deal. Big difference.

I heard that rumors without merit aren't worthy of discussion. Discuss.

ASA to close LAX...on the ASA web site. We all knew that was only temporary. But, it's been cool crossing the continental divide now and then.

Yup, ASA's flying is being taken over by another "unnamed" DCI partner that will be announced early next week by Delta. One who is much better suited to handle ops in the LAX market and Mexico. Hmmm, could only be Expressjet.

congrats guys! You deserve it most out of all of them. Thanks for helping bring the "DCI average" up too!

i sure hope it is express jet since they are kicking us back out to ATL. They will hopefully offset the drop in the "cost matrix" from Comair's new payscale.....

If it is us, (XJT), that's good news for us. We've been needing something like this. You guys so far are being very nice about this considering they're closing your base. Thanks for the hospitality in advance if it does turn out to be XJT. We are well positioned to do mexico ops (I think we do 30 or so cities now). I agree that it will raise the average compensation for the DCI carriers, but I'm not sure how much impact it will have being only 10 airplanes. I hope, however, that it will help you guys bring your contracts back up to the top of the industry as they used to be because right now, we have a huge red target on us because of our contract. Comair and ASA are great airlines with great histories and great people. I can't quite say the same for the airline flying the 170s for Delta, but you two are both class acts and we'll be glad to be part of the team if in fact it turns out to be true.

Avpilot was only trying to echo what most people think about the pay and work rules for the other two DeltaConn.
