I will be looking to get my Multi time, and Instructor ratings in a few months. I've heard some good things about ATP, and their program. What are some of your experiances? Which locations do you recommend, if any?

Thanks for the info guys,

:D

be carefull they take credit cards to schedule which they are notorious for changing at the last minute and if you cancel they won't refund the money. i went there its fast cheap and pretty easy but keep one hand on your wallet while you're there and make sure they tell you it's refundable in case you find something better once they have you hooked they don;t like to let go

good luck

Any experiances, with the Vegas location?

ask if they'll hire you as a CFI when you get done. I think they haven't recently, unless you go through they're whole program. if they will, it's a good deal-tons of hours, tons of multi.

EXPERIENCE

I do not have any, but i've read some things on the boards about them so ask a lot of questions? From what i understand - Not all of their locations offer instructor ratings. And they may offer you a job behind the desk until there is an opening. At which time it may be in a different location even out of the state from where you attended.

Can anyone further elaborate on this?

Great luck to ya!

I should have elaborated more.

It used to be, they would hire you, even if you didn't go through their whole program.

You start at their office in FL, then go to a location when one comes available, OR when the one of your choice becomes available. The wait could be 2 days or months on end.

I understand that now, they are only taking those who have done their career pilot program. They still have to go answer phones in FL until spots open, and that could be anywhere.

hope it helps. when times were good, ATP was a great deal because you could spend 6-9 months there and come away with 5-800 hours of time, all of it multi.

things may be different now, just like they are everywhere.

I just went to their Chicago (ARR) location last week. I got my ATP in the two day course. It is a real "Cram - Session" but is managable. I had my ticket in hand just after noon on the second day. I would recommend the course to anyone as long as you are prepared. They give you a good gouge beforehand on what to prepare for prior to your arrival.

Did my ATP at PWK in Chicago two years ago. Thought it was pretty good. In and out in two or three days with ticket in hand. I had been flying in a crew envionment so doing everything single pilot took some getting used to, but all went well. I'd recommend it for ATP's.
