Expatriate Interview Experience

Do any of you who've been around for a while know much about flying for Eva or China Airlines. I ran into an American Eva captain several years ago and he seemed to like it....but
Is this the aviation underworld where people with deep dark secrets go to fly or is a legit way to have some fun for someone wanting to get out for a while? Is it safe to mail a complete app. with personal and professional life history to a stranger in a country half way around the world? If anyone's been there, done that I'd like to hear about it.

EVA AND CHINA AIR

Well,

I know a few fellows that have worked at EVA and the experience was tough on their families. When I was looking at a furlough, I did consider EVA since I have an MD11 rating as they were urgently looking for pilots last summer. The pay started somewhere around 4K and I think 5 to 10% is taxable through Taiwan. Also, they provided an apartment. The upgrade was around 2 years maybe 3. Sometimes depending on your experience. There were some street Captains also. The rating you will recieve there is a Chinese ATP MD11 or 747.
China Air had some problems with their safety record and they have been hiring many Western pilots due to the language barrier.
If you are looking to enhance your resume with International experience while the Majors come back in their hiring mode, I would consider them if you are single.
