Hey hvy....this you wishing ill will to ABX with all the bitter DHL drivers? Don't know what the chances are of another with the EXACT same name.

So whats the deal-eo? You try to spread a neutral tone here but join in slamming ABX with all the disgruntled DHL drivers that want DHL to fail here? Even though it means both their jobs and yours?

this guy comes to mind for some reason....

Nope. That's me. Like I've stated before on this board, if DHL is to quit bleeding money like a stuck pig, ABX Hub/Ground services has got to go away. I believe the only way that's going to happen is to put Hete into a corner he can't get out of. I do still think that a merger of the two carriers is still in everyone's best interest, though. I think there's a good possiblity that still might happen. I'm wondering.... Can you post without sounding like you're a two year old that just dropped his lolly?

A merger is indeed in the best interest, but it would now seem that Hete is putting DHL into a corner from which it can't extricate with dignity. So many packages (though many less than there was), no compulsion to shift them.

To own a sort center which you don't control: less than priceless.
The German myth of superior business sense: blown apart.

Keep posting shooter. If you drop your lolly I'll buy you a new one.

I'd agree with everything but Hete having the Germans in a corner. 44B vs. 235 million. By sheer force alone, they'll win. It's like the Borg. Resistance is futile.

Long term I agree; incorporated into the Borg collective the survivors will be; resistance is (as always) futile.

But there aren't that many unused airframes out there to be had for immediate deployment and ordering new stuff takes years to actually acquire.

It's a problem of lift for our German friends, they have themselves in a position where they don't own any. This hasn't gone the way they either planned or wanted. Red ink continues to flow, no end in sight.

Edited to add: DHL has freely screwed ABX since day one. From this point, it's not going to be so easy.

Way to crack the case Nancy Drew.

Lolly eh?

Your post was full of glee at the possible demise of my employer. Your desire for ABX to go under is a desire for ABX employees to be out of a job. That does not sit well with me. And if you think that sounds like a two year old that’s just too darn bad. Sounds like you have a personal problem.

So maybe you can go back to that other board with all the ‘tards wishing for their employer (DHL) to go under. They may just get their wish if they keep screwing it up.

I was looking to see just how many faces you have. I found two, so far. So you can keep your sanctimonious babble because I now know your desire to see ABX employees out of work no matter how neutral you want to try and sound on this board.

Nope. I've kept the same face all along as far as I know. Ground's got to go. Airlines will merge. Hopefully. (Hete may get to keep CHI if the deal goes through, giving him an out.) A lot of the people that post over there now are ex AB IC's that now work for DHL. It used to be mostly for the over 3000 people who lost their jobs when the first merger went through. I wonder if you lost any sleep over those folks being put on the street on Tuesday, after being told the previous Friday that everything was hunky-dory, and that no one was going to lose their jobs. We call it the Labor Day Massacre. 20 year + employees tossed to the street. They were a good bunch of folks.

So shootie, did you get upset when all the DHL employees were fired? Remember, these were employees that were pre-Astar (DHL Airways). Same situation little man.

You are always trying to pick fights on these web boards, mainly due to your insecurity fears. You're one hostile little man. Seriously, look into that anger management.

HJ,

Don't worry, there's been plenty of screwing by DHL of both sides here. I don't think that lift is their priority right now. The ground ops. side is clearly killing them. Both hub and outstations. The leftover IC delivery network is the biggest problem as far as I can see. That has to be taken internal at some point. For Donoway to get them to bite on using that, he must be the most awesome snake oil salesman of all time.

What is that, some kind of attempt to try and justify your joy in trying to kill off ABX and it’s employees?

Why would you ask if I lost sleep over the DHL drivers? Would have felt better had they been Airborne drivers who lost their jobs? Sure I feel bad they were let go. I don’t like to see anyone get put in that kind of situation. Keep in mind it was DHL that let those folks go. You know, your precious. Why are you trying to blame ABX for that? I thought you were smarter than that. But I am digressing to your need to justify.

As far as the ground needing to go; I am sure it is going to happen. It is just a matter of time so there is no need to wish a kill off ABX for that reason. But keep in mind, that during integration, EVERY night was a sorting disaster until ABX took the operation back from DHL.

And for the airlines merging; sure. ABX buys Astar. Sounds good, no?

This is a forum that we airline employees can come and discuss, debate and share information about our industry. I say what is on my mind and you may or may not agree with I have to say. But I say what I think and do not harbor any ulterior motives as you seem to. That makes it impossible to contribute any quality material to the forum. I expected to see such drivel by some that post here, but not you. I don’t even know why anyone would waste his or her time on such a site as that exDHL. It if full of hateful spiteful petty people and the definition of cutting off your nose to spite your face. Rather than taking that energy and try to help make DHL a success in the USA, they chose to try and drag them down while continuing to collect checks where the money comes from DHL. What a bunch of crap! If you don’t like it leave, we all would be better served by that decision. Again I have to say, I expected to see that by some that post here, but not you.

No, it's not the same little man. But I will say, you are one of the simple minded posters I speak of in my reply to hvy.

So, how is your anger management going? You got that under control yet? Your post seems to contain quite a bit of irrational thought and conclusions that seem to be jumped to. Oh sorry, I forgot who I was talking to.

Hete actually talked about losing the hub services contracts on the conference call. Something along the lines of DHL probably will end up with all the hubs except, possibly, ILN. Too much synergy lost if ABX isn't involved with ILN hub services. He referenced an example how ABX mechanics help out hub services during de-ice events.

Not sure who gets the blame, but believe me, the ILN hub worked much better before DHL showed up.

I have no doubt that's true P. The CVG hub, once the automation bugs got worked out was fine too. There were some serious malfunctions early on though. For whatever reason, once the integration happened it seems that nothing works well anymore. Round peg, square hole maybe??

Actually, Shooter, they DID try to do everything in their power to make DHL a success in the USA. The morale of DHL's work force was actually pretty good right up until the merger. I'm sure the same was true of ABX's people. (My current DHL delivery guy is a former ABX'er. He was 16 years with ABX, but hates DHL and doesn't trust them at all after what they did to their own drivers after the merger)

Expecting those "former" DHL employees to now "try to make DHL a success in the USA" is like forcing a guy to walk the plank, then asking him if he'd mind scraping a few barnacles and maybe putting on a fresh coat of paint on the hull on the way down.

I doubt these guys have ever cared about anything or anyone but themselves. The guy that runs the site has his first page talking about 15 plus years of IC's getting robbed. Well, maybe he should have read the contract before signing, lesson learned. But it's all boycott web sites an B$%^& B$%^& B$%^&. They should just leave if their life is that miserable. And we would be better off by DHL not having their drivers complain to the customers about them. You think any of them care about the drivers woes?

And the phrase "love many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe" comes to mind when you speak of your driver.

Everyone talks about how DHL screwed this group here, screwed scope with that group there but all they all chant is down with ABX. I don't understand the lack of logic in those people. Oh well, some people just like drama and being bitter 24/7.
