Our Hawaiian MEC update on the Spirit strike was headlined with Spirit Pilots reach TA with exceptional level of solidarity. I think that sums it up well. I think it is safe to say we have all been in this with you and have been watching it closely. You guys are a class act, well done!

Yes they were Dan.

Spirit Management was always willing to take it to the strike to see if they could break the union. It was worth the effort for mgmt. In the end the the Spirit pilots prevailed.

Airtran management is concerned, as they should be....

There are many lessons to learn from the this strike.... from the APA and the UAL strike amongst others...

Air Line Pilots system wide should be asking their unions to provide a Lessons Learned Presentation, especially if they are in section 6.

This does bode well for AirTran! Very impressive that no one seemed even remotely interested in scabbing. Very good that Spirit management could not even find anyone to wetlease from thanks to pilots there also refusing to fly. Maybe this industry is heading back in a good direction!

What if the flying and working line pilots don't agree with what the union "agreed on", there REZ? Then what?

And the way it is sounding, it just might not get passed.

Until it is passed we are still in "self-help" and can walk out again if it is not passed.

My prediction: This is all part of the ploy with management to keep us flying through the summer, they threatened the MEC with Chapter 11, the MEC caved and said they will push this TA, it will go to a vote (early July), it will not pass, the company will threaten us with closing after voting in down(late July early August), layoffs, etc the MEC will encourage us to rethink and re-vote on this TA (mid to end of August) it will pass the second time around and we will have flown through the summer, then they will furlough in the fall...and will have met their goal of flying through the summer.

Just put out the details MEC in a five bullet point email with the pay rates.
