I think he means that if you show up to get an A boarding card you can have your pick of many different seats, and "assign" that one to yourself. I can't speak for the age 60 thing. Maybe they see it as a way to go to bat for the boy's at SWAPA. Or maybe some other "well rounded" aviator could it explain it to ya. Jeesh!:rolleyes:

I know Prof Jenkins as well, also not through ERAU. Too bad he's not the one quoted in the above mentioned article :)

As far as the above quote goes, Jenkins does a lot more than teach, and he's got more money than most pilots will ever dream of seeing. As stupid as any talking head quote sounds, I bet they get paid quite well for their face time.

Showing up early to beat the rush doesn't equate to an assigned seat. What exactly is your point?

Why in Gods name would you want someone to tell you where you MUST sit and who you MUST sit next to rather than have complete control yourself.

I guess thats how they do it at the commuters.
