Last Tuesday two Erau grads were killed by a drunk driver outside MKE airport. The driver was 19 with no license and .16 bac. He killed a total of three in the car and his own passenger. Troy Vanderhei and Mike Popp were the two from riddle. i attende both of their services on Saturday. Both were friends of mine and two great guys. For all of you that know them they will be greatly missed. Troy was employed with ACA and Mike with Skyway. it is a shame that their lives were taken at such an early age. I pray for their families.

Terrible

As a former Riddle-Prescott instructor, this news saddens me.

My condolences to their families.

And what will happen to the man-child driver with no license and an obscene BAC, who committed unpremeditated murder with a deadly weapon? Probation, most likely. Gotta make room in prison for deadbeat dads, pot smokers, and three-strikes shoplifters. Good Lord, what are we coming to?

Sorry for the rant. My sincere condolences to you and their families. I've just had more than my fill of irreponsible children getting away with murder.

How about 2 minutes with the their families and a couple of Glock's, time to go back to an eye for an eye and end some of the soft pedal rehab bullsh#t............

did anyone see the posted article on this DWI driver?

Just from the picture he looked like a real fukin scumbag who should be taken out and shot in the head.

what a waste.

I can see it now, 5 yrs suspended sentence and alcohol rehab program assigned from some liberal judge.

Rogelio Promotor is going to get what he deserves!

Rogelio Promotor pleaded no contest to all crimes. He will be sentenced on Oct 17 2003. I really hope they throw the book at him. The state of Wisconsin did drop the double charges associated with this case but he still has a bunch of felony convictions to deal with. Max penalty is 25 years in prison and or $100,000 fine for each count. A link to his case can be found here http://wcca.wicourts.gov/caseDetail...B2B7AF48D9D36600E02EEA&recordCount=8&offset=0

did you mean Mike Ropps?
I went through prc last march for the first time in 7.5 years or so, I can't believe how much had changed in that formerly sleepy little town...

da_mn shame though, the drunk never seems to be the one who buys it, just everyone else

Dash when did you graduate PRC? I am also an Alumni from there...

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families. As for the waste of sperm I think they should strap him to the runway and do some shortfield landings on his arse.

I was there from 91-94, you?

bobbysamd, yeah i remember mike, he was a good guy glad to hear it wasn't him, but the whole thing still sucks da-mned drunks...
Sure, it sucks.

You must have been starting about the time I was leaving. I left in mid-'91.

My wife used to work at Skyway for a while and said that Mike Popp was a real nice guy. Such a waste. It's a pity that WI doesn't have the death penalty. My condolences to his loved ones....

Thank God, events on my street just minutes ago could have turned out just as tragic, but luckily the driver narrowly avoided several people on the street and plowed into our garage.

As I nearly experienced what it would be like for kids to die on my street, my deepest condolances go out to your friends.

more bad news

for any of you who went to school with Mike you may know one of his frat brothers who died a couple weeks ago. John Berger died in a F-18 trainung mission. Here is a website anyone can use to read about it or contact his family. He is greatly missed.

If I ever lose a friend or loved one to a drunk driver, the state will not be able to make that person dead enough to suit me. If only there were some way to destroy everything this scumbag cares about...

To the familes of those lost: I share your grief...and your anger.

Life is precious

These tragic events never happen to the dirtbags....... it's always a close friend/relative.

We lost a few friends during my stint at Riddle to drunk drivers also. My prayers are with the families.

...... live life so that there is "standing room only" at your funeral.

Mike "Ropps" gave me my 304 ride.

Alumni 96-00

may be

It is time to get a rope, and have a good old fashion hanging, enough of this slow court system and bogging every thing down.

Well when he gets to prison, may be he will have to meet bubba.

sorry to hear of the loss, blessings to all who , both knew and those who flew with them.

Hang the bum , and sell tickets , on sunday after church.............
