I'm not sure if any of you have access to ERNIE, but ERAU DAB posted a video on there discussing how the tornado is going to affect the school in general. Here are a few highlights just for the flight department:

-Securing about 20 C172s from around the country.
-They found enough Seminoles to actually have a whole operational fleet of them.
-They're bringing in 4 more Arrows.
-PRC is going to lending them "a couple" airplanes. Not really sure what kind of airplanes or how many exactly, but that's what they said.
-Sims will be moved to a new building while the existing sim building is repaired.
-ERAU was able to lease a new hangar for the maintenance department.

All in all, I'm pretty impressed that they've managed to get that much accomplished in 3 days.

A few of you one here are the most immature, insensitive people I have ever met. If you don't like Riddle, fine. But to laugh about others' misfortunes is just plain wrong. Riddle wasn't the only place damaged by the tornado...homes and apartment buildings got hit. Comair passengers and air traffic controllers could have been killed since they weren't warned about the tornado (it passed less than 150 yards from the tower) and Comair was on approach. So grow up!

Food for thought...most hate those they are jealous of or intimidated by.

A tornado warning was issued for Volusia County (Daytona Beach) over a half hour before the tornado developed, so there was plenty of warning. Comair didn't arrive till around a half hour, or later after the tornado hit, and after the landing runway was inspected and cleared of FOD.

The Tornado touched down EAST of the tower and terminal, so it never could have hit them. Luckily.

Just sayin.

But the pressure differential was just MICRONS from the tower and
the Comair pilots went to ERAU so they just HAD to be in grave danger
but their superior(?) training saved the lives of millions!!
