Finally got the nerve up to take my 3yo yellow lab flying. Had a custom pad made for the back area which is 3 inch memory foam custom upholstered like a dog bed. Gives her stability and comfort and also some attenuation from sound and vibration I would think. She did great and I hope to fly her weekly to keep her comfort growing. Her mutt muffs fell off sadly so I need to adjust those or try foam plugs (tethered) as another cub owner does with their dog. She did great for the hour long flight.
