Ok,
Pac Jet. The word on the street is that you will end your career if you put them on your resume. Having F16's escort them in after a report of flying a/c past engine TBO (there's more to the story than that, but I don't know what it is) is on the minor side of things they're guilty of. I don't have any first hand knowledge, but I can find more war stories if needed. Word is, "you name it, they done it." Shaky place to work, and AFAIK, the owners are removing a bunch of a/c from the 135 op. I can't vouch for that info though. H e double hockey stick, i ain't even a commercial pilot, and I've been advised not to work there.
Elite aviation. Tons of small to midsize a/c. Unfortunatley, no first hand information, but if you have specific questions, I'll see if I can get answers for you.
Trans-Exec. David Pillson is a PITA to for for, about, and around. You will most likely deal with him during an initial interview. He's Check Airman on the GII/GIV/GV. Get along with him in the interview and you're good to go. Operates GV/GIV/GII/C560(one). Flies to Mexico and New York a lot. For more specific questions, ask away and I'll get back to you within a week or so.
I don't know what kind of time your buddy has, but for low time check out Chrysler Aviation (LJ36, LJ55, LJ31, C560). Word of warning: If you think 135 scheduling is bad, this is the epidemy of bad. Their pilots say that as a company, it ain't a bad place to be (pretty straight shooting) but their schedules suck *ss. There are multiple pop-up 0200 shows because of the nature of their flying (a bunch of lifeguard flights through USC/UCLA among other things). Seems to be a box-flying schedule but with human cargo.
For low time, SunQuest is also worth a look. BE20,B350,C525,WW24. Donno if they hire into the WW24, only one on thier cert. You can bet on a king air placement. SunJet is also on the field, but I know nothing about them.
If you guys remember the Michael Jackson taping on the Gulfstream incident, that was Air Group. Take it for what it's worth.
You guys want any gouge on SunQuest, TransExec or Chrysler, let me know and I'll get you some good gouge. The rest is going to be hit and miss. The bottom line with TransExec is that if you can deal with Pillson, you'll be okay at the company. If you don't like him you better like the a/c or yer screwed.
