CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- A charter airliner with 135 people aboard -- most of them French tourists -- crashed shortly after takeoff early Saturday from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, airport officials in Cairo say.

No survivors were immediately found.

Egypt's official news agency Mena quoted an aviation ministry source as saying all aboard may have been killed.

The Boeing 737 jet took off shortly before 5 a.m. (3 a.m. GMT) and quickly disappeared from radar about seven miles south of the airport, said airport officials, who spoke on customary condition of anonymity.

The officials said 127 passengers and eight crew members were aboard the jet operated by the private Egyptian company Air Flash, and most were French tourists.

SU-ZCD is one that went missing. Swiss aviation authorities made spot checks last year and denied further entry into the country to this operator, unless they fix the problems found on the aircraft. Apparently, Flash never requested landing permits into Switzerland again, after they "grounded" their aircraft until repair.

SU-ZCD was originally operated by TACA N374TA until it was leased to Colorair and then became operated by Heliopolis = Ecojet = Flash Airlines.
