They are making it very clear that Epic Instructors EARN 30$/hr..those cheap rates are for ERAU students only, and are wet. Tryin to suck up all the business in DAB..and they got me :D

My guess would be they are charging $40-45 for instruction..

WOW!

Sign me up! I'll do 5 years of steep turns for $30 an hour! Nice!

*edit*
I just did the math...at 8 hours a day and 5 days a week, do you know how much those instructors are making?!?!?! There's hope for us yet...

I can understand Epic slashing the aircraft prices to attract more customers...but I just don't see how they can afford paying their instructors that well too.

I am sure they are still doing quite well even after you figure the CFIs' $30.00/per hour considering they probably are charging the customer between $40-45 per hour. $10/15 profit per hour will add up rather quickly.

Glad to see they compensate their instructors with decent pay.

I forgot...that's what the FO is for. CRM at its finest.

I was curious about education requirements in the industry. I hear yes and no all the time. Now, it is hard to get by without one. I am attending FSI in the spring and I will be a junior in college. But I am taking time off just to focus on flying because my university has no aviation program or degree. I am currently a chemistry major!! If I am hired before I go back to school, will it hurt me not to have finished.. will two years make a difference? I would appreciate any feedback!!

there are plenty of healthy debates on this subject, on this board... a simple search will highlight them for you. However, in your case, good god, don't walk away from 2 years of school, tuition, hard work (maybe), etc. with nothing. Finish what you started, get the degree, and then focus on the flying. A complete waste if you don't.
