Flying up to Edmonton next week. Dropping off pax but will probably overnight. Any suggestions on a nice place to stay or good restaurants and bars ?

Stayed here a couple years ago. Near the airport and not in town per say, but definitely a decent place and would stay there again versus attempting something unknown. The FBO set it up for us (think they had a rate), believe it was AeroShell, might be worth calling and asking if they have any suggestions in town if you prefer to stay there. All in all, think the drive is maybe 15 mins into town if I remember correctly. Enjoy.

My old home town.

It is about a 40 minute drive to West Edmonton Mall but it's really easy - all freeway. The mall is like Mall of America only 3 times as big.

There are lots of restaurants in the mall and around it. Burbon Street (in the mall) has a bunch.

If you don't have time for that Nisku (the town where the airport is, way south of City) has lots of hotels.

There's a reason why people from Calgary refer to it as "DEADmonton". Boring... Make sure you bring your hockey stick.
