Yeah...I'm sure the developers have their eye on it. I think there is some environmental issues with the property tho...not sure if they can build homes on it.CrimsonEclipse said:He was the slumlord of the aviation community.
I watched on of his hangars collapse. It's still probably not repaired.
I'd be suprised if it remains an airport.

I agree... Growth and improvment are definitely needed, but then you have the neighborhood to contend with.. Knowing him, i'd bet old Ed left some kind of stipulation that if his family wants to continue reaping the benefits(money) from it, BLM will have to stay an airport... and yeah, maybe the county getting it wouldn't be bad.. i don't know enough about that to make an informed opinion. Considering how much corporate traffic it has, getting funding for improved equipment would be a priority. Fuel sales at Colombia are up, and they are surprised, lol.gkrangers said:The key is growth. I think a sale to the county would be a good thing...it would bring in the funding other airports get...and give me a reason to return to BLM, as well as create jobs and breathe more life into the businesses there, and bring in new ones...
BLM really needs to be taken advantage of, given its proximity to major areas on the shore....
I prefer the 20 minute drive to BLM to the 40 minute drive to 47N, altho I do like 47N. A new and improved BLM would be nice...
