I did a search but didn't really find the info I was looking for. I'm getting ready to apply to Eagle and was wondering what the medical portion of the interview entails. I realize that they no longer look over every flake of skin to make sure that you're healthy enough to fly the Space Shuttle; but, I'm just wondering what the "new" exam consists of. Vision, color vision, pee test? Thanks

Be sure to speak up if you have any latex allergies.

My medical consisted of:

Two pee tests, a hearing test, and fingerprinting. That's it. No more astronaut physicals. The pee tests are kind of interesting because you have to drink fluids to get enough for the sample, but you have to pee like 60ml, and then stop and do the paperwork, and then pee 30 more ml... so bladder control might be important. By the time I got in there I was ready to go, but you have to make sure that you don't pee more than you need. It's kind of tough when you really need to go!

FYI, for me the hearing test was by far the least enjoyable and most nerve-wracking part of the entire interview process. The gouges on aviationinterviews.com should prepare you pretty well--they did me.

Thanks for the info guys!! I've been instructing for just over three years now and it's time to get out haha. Eagle is my #1 choice so I'm doing everything I can to make myself attractive to them.

SIU...is it safe to assume that you're Chicago based?

Yes sir, chicago based, any questions?

Not at the moment; but you may regret giving me that invitation. :-) j/k. I'm sure I will have questions as time goes on. I'm going to knock out the ATP written in the next couple weeks and finish getting things in order on airlineapps. Hopefully I'll see you on the line in the next few months.

Wow, I was in that same boat a few weeks ago. I've also instructed for three years, and it's also time for me to get out! Eagle was my number one choice, and I now have a class date... which I may accept depending on how one more interview interview goes.

Take care and good luck!

Sounds good, hope to see you out there, and let me know if I can help with anything.

Good luck at your other interview....keep an extra Eagle slot open for me :-).

SIU....seriously, thank you for the offer. I'll definitely be sending you a PM if I run into any questions. Are you guys still receiving a kick-back if someone you recommend gets hired. If so, maybe I can help a chicago brother out and I'll let you know when I drop my stuff. (even though we did come from rival schools)

Ha, yeah there is a 500 dollar referral bonus, but once you apply yourself it is too late for me. If you have not applied yet let me know, if so no big deal. And remember anything that I can help you with I would be glad too. Again, I think that this is a great place to work, been here almost a year now, and I have nothing bad to say about it.

Astronaut physical consisting of a finger up your butt. He'll hook it and pull out really fast. Make sure he doesn't wipe it on the back of your shirt.
