With both of you recalling back to the line, has there been any word of when these companies may start taking new hires?

Has the flow back issues been taken care of?

Is CO and AA still bleeding or are they slowly returning to the black? Are the mainline pilots still being furlouged?

What are there hiring mins and who/where do I mail/fax a resume?

Any info would be greatly appreciated....

Rumors at EGL was they might start hiring as early as Xmas, but probably the early part of next year is more realistic.

Expect hiring at XJT sometime in the summer of "04".

I don't know with what I'm hearing they are having a h*ll of a time filling the recall classes for november and december. I'm starting to wonder if it might not be sooner, say maybe spring '04. I wonder what the 'final answer' is going to be for all the guys who defered cause they're going to have to make it alot sooner then I thought. Too bad old John Dresser is no longer around...

These guys either need to **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** or get off the pot. They know whether or not they are going to come back. What do they possibly need to think about. Either they are coming back or they're not. If you're at Commutair, it should be a no brainer to accept recall and get back. That's nothing against Commutair, but the PIC time is not going to help most of the furloughees that went over there, since most majors aren't going to be hiring for quite some time anyway. If you went to Skywest, then I would say that your decision would be a little tougher, but most have said that they will probably stay at Skywest, and I don't blame them. But, they shouldn't be bypassing recall when they know that they aren't coming back. Make a decision already, so that the company has an accurate idea of who is and isn't coming back next year. I'm sure that potential applicants who do want to work here would also appreciate it.

When did you decide to start helping the company? hehe
Any ways, I kind of dissagree with you wanting all those guys to hurry up and get back here. I look at it this way.... for those that are already flying at CA or SKW they have a flying job and if they bypass recall for a later date, that just means, one more guy/gal who might not have a flight job at the moment will be able to get back flying that much quicker :)

COEX I agree with you. The entire furlough list has evidently been contacted for the return. There cannot be any further derfferments when they go back through the list again, and if anyone had deffered previously, they have to say yes or no. Hiring will start sooner rather than later.

COEX Hiring

I was in recurrent training yesterday for Express Jet and we were told that the recruiting department is spooling up. They plan on hiring in January. The bypass rate on the first round was at aprox. 60%. With the increase of block hours at 1000 hours next spring I think you will continue to see a fair amount of growth. With 125 recalls at Continental in January I bet the seniority list will move at a pretty good clip. There was no guess on what would be competitive however. At this point it is anybody’s guess until they start receiving applications. Hope this helps if your still looking for a job.

Hey all, great to hear that the recalls are in full swing. I have a friend of mine going back to reccurent soon at CA. For those of us still looking to get hired by CA or Eagle, should we start to update our resumes now or wait for the word to spread that they are looking at resumes again. Also, for CA do you think EWR would be junior or will Houston be when they get going again and the increased flying begins. Thats good to hear that 100 plus going back to mainline at CA, what is the prognosis for more recalls there? Hope everyone is well.

Cheers,

Avrat

avrat,

When you say CA, do you mean Comair? I think you mean XJT or ExpressJet/CoEx etc. As far as bases, EWR will always be junior but IAH has grown so large that its kind of junior also. If I were iterested in applying I put in my resume sooner rather than later. Try, [email protected] (Jim Nides, VP flight ops)

good luck

I hope these guys flood Jim's email box with resumes LOL.
Its nice to see things going the right direction at XJT for once :)

CLE ERJ -
My god, man . . . don't tease me!! Where did you hear the 125 recalls to mainline?! I mean it seems inevitable, but have you heard it from someone that would know?

As for emailing resumes to Nides, I'm thinking there might be a more productive route. I'm not sure what it is yet, but I'm thinking it might just piss Nides off. Just my opinion, though . . . who knows?

Well to my knowledge we do not have a recruiting department at the moment so you might as well email them to the address they gave above.

i can't believe you put nides email address out like that.. sheesh!

despite what you or i or anyone thinks of the man personally, i gotta feel for him now.. his email address this open and public? bet he won't be able to get through all the junk email he's gonna get now for weeks. poor guy!

Hey everyone,

No BS rumor here. Straight facts from the mouth of one of our CP's who is on the board for new-hire screening.

1500/500 will be the hard mins.

when the flood gates will open? That I just don't know.

NERVOUS

Guys,

Don't email Nides. Whoever posted his email, take it down. All of the resume submission will be done online on a dedicated web site. Wait until you see that site go up...then fire your resumes in. Our whole recruiting process has changed from the Dresser days.

I have been working at XJT since 1999 as an agent and I am also a struggling CFII...any suggestions?
