Can you explain what each is. I know that the EAA is the Expieremental Aircraft Association, but what I am more curious about is which is the Special Interst group. Thank you for anyone who knows. By the way, this for a government project.

CJ

AOPA, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, is the special interest group. www.aopa.org
ALPA, the Air Line Pilots Association, is the union. www.alpa.org
EAA, the Experimental Aircraft Association, hold the airshow in Oshkosh in the name of homebuilt aircraft. www.eaa.org

They are all special interest groups. They all do political lobbying for the interests of thier member group

AOPA works for primarily for the interests of General Aviation aircraft owners and pilots.

EAA is concerned with issues which affect genereal aviation in general (like AOPA) and issues which affect aircraft home builders and people who fly primarily for fun.

ALPA political efforts are directed primarliy toward benefiting airline pilots.

Often the interests of one group conflict with interests of the other.

Anyone who claims that EAA is a special interest group and ALPA is not (or vice versa) is trying to put a "spin" on reality for political gain.
