Man alive, sooo serious. Really, you need to take a chill pill and then read the other posts in this thread. I make fun of myself, which was also part of the title of this thread. Anyone can see that it was supposed to be funny. You must be a greenbook guy, all tweeked out. My GOADING posts make you sick? Really? Don't get sick over them. Sheesh. Step away from the computer and DON'T GET SICK. Wow.

Bye Bye--General Lee
No, you should probably stop jacking off at the keypad about how many other pilots will be "beneath" you. I am not a greenbook guy. I have a bunch of Delta buddies as I live in a Delta city and most of them were in my squadron and they are really embarassed about your childish posts. They actually get mad when I tease them about secretly being general Lee from FI. So you are famous, but its like the kind of fame Michael Jackson has. Enjoy it!

p.s. you telling me to step away from the computer is ludicrous.

I hope this merger never happens. Both companies are better standing alone. The amount of disrespect shown for each other would lead to a horrible crew environment. Lots of unhappy guys.

I am a new hire pilot living at a Northwest base and frankly I hope this merger never happens. It would destroy my career expectations completely.

I prefer Delta's union approach to the merger because they feel the Pilots opinion should matter. We are in this for the long run. The hedge funds and management may stay in the airline for less than 5 years.
We must protect our career expectations and I do not care for horrific destruction of my future this merger represents. Northwest can keep my 10% pay increase. If this merger goes through I am forced to look at my options and sadly dust up my resume.

Explains....

Ever seen one of those "Walking Sticks"? Yeah, that's me. And, Nicole Ritchie is my hero.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Yeah, Gen..... That explains a lot! Looks like you have had a hard life...... One too many "round the world" wedgies, and here comes an egotistical little man that no one can stand the sight or sound of!

Congrats, Gen.... You are still a tool, just a much, much smaller one-you know...

-Sad, Just Sad.....

Northwest Pilots always say no bump etc. But with the fences coming down I get to stay on reserve for 10 years as Northwest guys scramble out of their DC9 and other narrow bodies to hold lines on our wide bodies.
Right now we have guys with hire date Oct 2007 holding Lines on the B767 at JFK. Reserve with the merger will last for years effectively making my entire career a real pain separated from family. I would rather take a pay cut. I could get forced to fly a DC9 and move to KDTW, KMEM or KLGA just to have a life.
As a new hire I can not find one thing that is positive about this merger for me and my classmates.

HOPE NORTHWEST PILOTS HOLD OUT FOR SENIORITY. SENIORITY IS EVERYTHING AND THAT GOES BOTH WAYS FELLA'S. Even the new hire would like to protect his seniority as much as his seat.
I jump seat on Northwest which is always rough for me as I work hard not to upset the crew with any negative thoughts about the merger. You can feel how much they desire a merger from their conversation and statement if the management wants it will happen. Our views are not important yadayada.
On Delta's jump seat it is just Thank God the merger is dying! And fears it may get revived.
I HOPE THIS MERGER IS DEAD. IT WILL DISTROY MY CAREER EXPECTATIONS COMPLETELY.

What exactly are those Delta pilots going to get out of a merger (besides a hastily negotiated new contract with only marginal pay raises)?

Yawn....

Here we go again, just couldn't leave it alone could ya.

And for the General...AIN'T NO WAY!:D

General:

With their ideas on senriority integration, they will be your Captain and I'll be Superpilot 92's pool boy.

I guess you, like many on this forum, never encounter "sarcasm." Clearly the General is being sarcastic in many cases - you can't see it? Too bad people take things so literally sometimes...

P.S. Hey GL - tone down the sarcasm a bit so that people won't get so embarrassed and upset... Either that or use the smiley-faced icons more liberally so that people know you are being sarcastic (not everyone can tell). OYS

General,

I appreciate your sense of humor. Heck, I've dedicated threads to you to poke fun at you, and you handle it well. Come on over to the Regionals thread. You haven't gotten tha group all wound up in awhile.

I still think you're first one out in the Thunderdome Seniority Merger.

Speedbird,

You being junior I understand your angst. However, you are going to get screwed either way with 100+ barrel oil and a slowing US/World economy. If you think Dal is going to keep growing at 500+ newhires per year you have not been paying attention the last 15-20 yrs. They will continue to hire and promise growth right up to the furloughs/concessions. And as far as YOUR 767s, do you really think NW made the largest order/options ever for the 787 for internal growth? No. This merger has been planned for years, and those orders/options were to replace YOUR 767s post merger. Should they be YOURs because they are replacements, or ours because we bring them to the marriage? If that is your posistion, great. You get the 76s but once the parking/replacing starts you only get access to the 78s until there are insufficient bidders from the NW side. Sound fair? Now as far as the pilots you jumpseat with wanting this merger, the only pilots who will be better off will be the widebody capts at NW who want the immediate raise and signing bonus and will retire soon or the very jr(9 fos) who feel they will get a little raise/signing bonus to survive their meager probation pay. The rest of us(mid seniority and less than 45 yrs old) don't see much of a longterm benefit unless our seniority is reasonably protected. I am not a doh guy but feel that something close has to happen even if we have some fences. Otherwise, we will miss out on our retirement bubble and subsequent seniority movement.

Northwest Has orders for 18 B787. The rest of the stuff is options. We have in the next year 8 B777 coming online, 10 B737-700 and we just got 17 B757 ER from American airlines which we are about to start flying. We are increasing our orders of B777 LR.
We do trips to South and Central America with double crews. Delta has double crews for a lot of our flying.
To assume your B787 growth is a replacement for our B767 is just plain rubbish.
My future at Delta is bright. My future at a Northwest and Delta merged Airline is Ugly
If I am wrong I was happy to stake my future on my judgment when I got this job and I am still willing to stage my future on a stand alone Delta Air lines.
I have one daily prayer keep northwest Pilots off our property forever. What a nightmare for Delta new hires.
No disrespect to Northwest I am sure they would do fine on their own.
Hopefully Delta stays Delta.
Even with the high price of oil how does a merger reduce the price of oil. How do labor disputes help an airline survive in such hard times. We need our pilots happy and working with management to succeed. We do not need a new worthless Airline no one is happy or proud to be hired into with dispicable future for new hires because that is how it should be as per our new pilot leaders from up north.

Overdramatic much?

We at Continental hope that it does not go through either. As soon as NWA releases its golden share to us if they merge us and United will be attending the ball shortly after NWA/Delta gets there. We have it much better at CAL going it alone. We have orders/options for over 120 airplanes still coming.

Come on now. Some of you can't take a joke. BTW, you need to study those DC9 flows, and how to read SIDs and STARs. I honestly want you to pass your course. You could be my FE someday. ;)

Bye Bye--General Lee

Huh?? Study my -9 stuff so i can be your FE someday?? How does that work? Do you know what an FE does, GL? By the way whats a SID or a STAR? ;)

I was hoping I could escape to your Airline if this thing passes the DOJ smell test.
Looks like my only options will be cargo or contract flying somewhere overseas!
