I used to fly 121 airlines so I'm out of the know (2 years) of whats been going on.

Can someone give me the quick and dirty of AA? Are there still furloughed guys on the street? Are they hiring off the street yet? Soon?

Whats junior domiciles? What's FO pay? New hire equipment process? Any other pertinent info would be appreciated.

Of the Majors, who is hiring. I've heard UAL is close, CAL is. Obviously SWA, JetBlue ect.

Sorry I'm asking for a synopsis of the entire industry but something came up and I'm looking for info quick.

Thanks in advance.

Lots of people bypassing or going back only to immediately take mil leave.

A guy is running a spreadsheet with recall projections and he is guessing they will have run through the list by the summer of '09 if not earlier. Lots of people have moved on to better things. TC

2340 on furlough who have not been offered a recall yet. APA website as of today.

Figure about two years before it reaches the last guy. Probably no hiring until sometime in 2010. After the last guy is offered recall, all the bypassed furlouhees have three years before they have to make their final decision about coming back.

DAL's hiring. Northwest should be soon, if not already. AirTran's hiring.
There are others, but that's a quick addition to your current list.

But still 89 hires on the street.........

Step 1: Get hired in 1989

Step 2: Repeat following for 12 years in response to question "why are you still there?"

"There are a bunch of retirements coming, I'm going to be real senior"

300-400 times is probably average.
