My Man SMITH! said:Thats funny, when I was traveling to JFK for the interview, I spoke with one of the passengers who happened to be a loyal USAir customer for years. Since JetBlue began servicing SYR, she's switched to jetBlue and has been a customer since. She said the difference in product is night and day. I would have to agree with her! I don't see jetBlue being driven away anytime soon! Their product is far superior to any other airline I've flown on. Just my opinion.
By the way your A320 rates are getting close to ours, you better lower them to stay competitive.
JBPA said:While I think 32 is definately over the top and confrontational, I wouldn't be bragging or comparing our payrates with anyone elses. Especially taunting them to 'lower' theirs to ours.
Our pay is low and certainly nothing to brag about.
Nado said:I am searching for a letter that a UAL FA told me about that your management sent to JB's asking them to stop or limit the jumpseats they offer to their own people. Seems they don't like the fact JB gives so many of them rides from South Florida to New York. UAL taking care of its people. What have you heard?
I just got done reading the stuff over at untied.com - interesting stuff. I guess that is all true as well? I am first in line to work over there. I would love to give the most valuable years of my life to people like that.
Just wanted to hear it from the horses mouth. Oh yeah- stop taking water bottles out of the cockpit.
32LT10 said:I read you guys are getting new uniforms. Is it true you are going with coveralls that have "sanitation dept." stamped on the back? Just wanted to get if straight from the janitors mouth.

Dizel8 said:It is true and the first piece of thrash we will be disposing off is you
On a more serious note, I notice that the Yonited brainsurgeon still cannot spell jetblue!
32LT10 said:"disposing off"??? Can you clarify that statement as it does not make sense. Funny you would dispute my spelling of blew with such gross errors of your own. I suppose it should be jetblow for now and jetblew when Needleman folds the tent and take the revival to a new location.

No one has answered the question. Does blew have a furlough policy? Will they do it in reverse seniority order? Who cleans the airplane the quickest stays? There has to be a thought to how this process is going to play out.
because we have the best group of pilots around
Sure, Nobody ever said that before. Jblu is not immune to anything, I think doug's letter points that out rather plainly. There is no furlough policy because we don't furlough, never have and never will

Before I would go off half cocked about who will beat who......you must look at the "segments" of the airline business.
U certainly has a lot of business flyers who demand first class, upgrades, lounges, and worldwide service, and they make their bread and butter on those folks and at the same time carry lots of families on vacations. Legacy carriers concentrate on people who HAVE to fly for their job/work.
JB caters to more of the discretionary traveler, like the families who are on vacation and the occasional traveller. Of course, they carry their share of business people who have to fly to work and that is where the battleground, but their bread and butter is people who fly because they WANT to. In other words, they will fly if they can afford it.
I think they cater to different segments of the business. Some customers will choose one over the other. Some choose price, some choose schedule, some choose service. There is enough to go around.
This is all a mute point if jetA stays at $2.50-3.00 per gallon. There isn't a profitable route with that kind of fuel bill in the US.
