Anyone out there considering switching to Vonage for VOIP phone service: DON'T.
Very long story but their product can be very complicated, 911 service is extremely limited, and their customer service is crap with endless phone menus ("If you are a Vonage customer, press 1. You have pressed 1. If this is correct, press 1 now."), barely literate CSR's, and unending waits on hold.
Because of these morons, I no longer have home phone service (or FAX, or TIVO), I've lost the phone number I had for 13 years (they won't give it back) and now I have to call every person I know and tell them why they get "We're sorry. This number is no longer in service."
Caveat Emptor
