Let's say we all boycot ARINC, which I have been a member of off and on for several years...just like UPAS... Let's say they go out of business... Now we have a void in the marketplace and some other $cum-$ucking @ssholes will take advantage of it. By the way, niether of the above mentioned companies ever helped me get a job but they sure as heck made it more difficult and expensive to get one. Furthermore, the ARINC magazine and newsletter is notoriously late and inaccurate in providing up to date information. I for one will not re-subscribe, ever!

60 Minutes

From one former radio newsie to another, I think it might help. But, it has to be reported properly. It has to cover all aspects of aviation hiring myth, e.g, you-know-what and pilot shortage for openers. It has to be written in kindergarten-level English, primarily because the public believes that pilots belong to some esoteric, secret, Kremlin-like society, and have no clue that so many applicants are vying for so few jobs. And, that most of those jobs do not pay six figures.

Pub, as always, raises a valid point about Kit and his "service." Even if Kit were to be debunked, the uninitiated will still turn to him for guidance. And, as their Pied Piper, Kit will lead the uninitiated down the primrose path of hiring oblivion.

Now, if someone came around who provided honest aviation career guidance information and disclosed the realities of aviation career-building up front while still providing encouragement, that person, in my .02, would make a million dollars.

I stopped supporting Kit after I read the issue that featured my airline. TOTAL FLUFF!!! And the "Pilot's Perspective" article was even worse. They found a guy that said mgt. was the best and pilots get paid too much. He did not speak for any of us.

I only read the mag. No reason for me to even bother with anything else. Interesting point by dashtrash about that mag though. It really seems as if they often choose a pilot to interview who is only at the company for 6 months, on probation, and won't tell one word of truth to what they actually like or dislike about the job. I don't even have 400 hours flight time and that was pretty easy to pick up on. On the other hand, he does have to keep the airlines happy to get these interviews soooooooo.........that's what the product gives us.
