Alright, I finally scraped together enough money to make my flightinfo donation. I checked the stats, and I'm a little surprised.

It seems that there are only 351 donating members, out of many thousands of registered members. I would be number 352. Where is everyone else?

If I understand the stats correctly, it looks like our tax system: a very small number of people are paying for most of the costs of this site. What is more surprising is the fact that we have only about half of the required funds after several weeks of fundraising.

Now if someone like myself, a guy who is still getting by on that government cheese, which will end very soon, can make a generous donation to the life of this site, then I can only imagine that those who are more financially stable than I am can do the same.

So, search you heart, and maybe under the cushions of your couch, and let's cough up the rest of the money to reach the goal.

I now relinquish the donation soapbox to the next member.

:)

I, like others I'm sure, have donated in the last few weeks. I feel bad I had to wait so long. But, I was just going to say that the "Current Goal stats" page is a little behind. Not that I need to see my name in lights, but I'm sure that the stats are a little better than they look. The stats site has not been updated in awhile.

This site has helped me tremendously and has been a source of great education for me. I am happy to help keep it going!

I still don't see General Lee on the list...I presume the check is in the mail...

Any others? :)

I imagine you can still go to pay pal dot com and send to "Aviation Communications". Put your screen name in "comments".

Is that right, moderators?

I remembered that you mentioned that earlier, but I was convicted to make my own modest contribution, since I have the second highest number of posts after Bobby, and I'm probably responsible for a LOT of bandwidth!!

I did appreciate the nice Christmas present, though. :D

Great to hear about your sharing the Gospel with the FA, too!

Mark says that he is working on putting the link back up right now. Apparently, he inadvertently made it go away.

I know what you mean. I have very little, so I can't give as much as I'd like to, but I did find a way to donate.

Anyone not done so yet?

I don't think we have to worry about this board going down. Every airlines' management LOVES this board. Look at the biggest donors. I bet that Ornstien got a donation in there someplace.

I still donated though

Hey, how do we encourage General Lee to make a contribution?

I did mean on the keyboard. As soon as I posted I realized how open I had left myself but the pager went off and I had to run.

Only one additional donation in the past five days.

Do you know a board member that you can encourage to make even a small donation?

Not for sure how quickly the fundraiser stats get updated. I sent mine in 12/31 and am showing MIA.

Looks like it got updated after my original post earlier.

I have an idea. I'll offer Doin' Time 24 hours of insults directed solely at me if he can come up with a donation.

Think he'll go for it?

:D

General Lee?

Far be it for me to stand up for the officer corps, but the General is listed (along with me) in the gold level donors. I don't know when he donated, though.
