After a day in groundschool you need an hour or so to let your mind just vegetate. Taking Rover for a walk sounds like a great way to accomplish just that. Of course the practicality of the concept is somewhat dependent on the dog's personality. A very high-energy breed will cause problems, one way or another. A GSP ain't a great idea, an old sleepy spaniel would do just fine.
 
Have the dog go to training for you. You just sit back and relax while he brings home the bacon.
