IDG=Integrated Drive Generator. CSD+Gen=IDG.

The RAT/ADG is an all or nothing thing. Any power at all on the AC busses, the RAT stays put. Zero power on the AC busses, it deploys.

Sully's airplane had "some" power. Therefore, no RAT.

Who's books are you reading? I've been on the jet for 6 years and never heard of it, but that doesn't mean I pay attention.....

We have an (ADP) Air Demand Pump
and an (HDG) Hydraulic Driven Generator

Maybe I'm missing something....
 
Come on guys, it's so simple maybe you need a refresher course! It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that ADG with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads, and I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.
 
DC-10 calls it an ADG too. Air Driven Generator. But it's manually deployed.
 
At Mesa we just call it the "Trolling Motor".

My manual for the 763ER call it a RAT, it only provides center hydraulic. Maybe the 757 is different and it provides electrical so then it is called an ADG(enerator)
