Nobody can screw a pilot worse than another pilot. Not dispatch or crew scheduling. A pilot has the unique skills and background to stick it royally to his bretheren. Nothing is worse than a management-type with a seniority number and an ax to grind. We've got a few here, too.

Sorry, maybe I was a little early lumping Chromer in with the other two. I am getting the feeling that he is spending too much time at the G.O. and gunning for a higher management position over there on Lower Virginia Ave. I am not sure how it works at other carriers, but I thought the CPs were supposed to help you and stick up for you, not tell you "I don't know, or I guess you got screwed, or you can grieve it." Chromer may still be ok, but have heard too many stories about him really going after line guys when it wasn't warranted.

Yes, ASA chief pilots are for making everyone in management feel good. It doesn't matter if you've done the right thing- if someones ego was bruised, you will PAY!!!

As of about an hour ago, Drew was over in the crew lounge answering questions. Didn't understand the answers, but he had them.

A management-to-english dictionary would have been handy.

Drew had the typical ASA answers to various problems. Example:
Someone asked Drew why ASA didn't use jetways at some of our outstations even though they are available. He mumbled something about connectors and flux capacitors and such then said that the main reason is that they cause aircraft damage.

Solution A: Don't use them and make the pax walk across the ramp in the rain dodging bagcarts.

Solution B: Teach the rampers to operate the freakin' things.

At ASA, thats easy...solution A

What's wrong with Chromer? How did you lump him in with the likes of Nelson and Drew? He may not be great, but he is not that bad.

OK, so when was the last time you saw Chrome in the crew room? He's at the GO polishing himself. I know of one Capt that Chrome took offline w/ pay, twice, in an attempt to get rid of him because Chrome didn't like 'em or his posts on the ALPA board.

And for you DFW folks...what's with your base CP? He's the most rude and condescending manager yet. You can't even start a conversation with him. Oh, guess he's taking care of his new digs. Too bad ya'll can't get a decent crew room....
