I have about 1700 TT, 900 multi, 750 turbine, ATP written only. I know some companies will hire below. I just figured I would ask.

Make sure while you're asking them, you remind them of this statement:

6,000 hours is competitive for that job? Give me a break. If I had that much time I wouldnt be working there. Unless it was 6000 hours in a 172

;)

I wasnt trying to be cocky.. I just think with that amount of experience you could have some better options. Come on, 6000 hours?

The lowest experience level was 5600 hours for the last CS newhire class, with many guys having well over 10,000 hours.

Man maybe I better head back to college and look for another career.. Salaries just arent looking too good anymore. 10,000 hours? Looks like Ill be qualified in about 8 years. I could be a doctor in 8 years

Good idea, but if you want to stay in aviation you could probably get hired at American Eagle or G0-Jets with that attitude. They take your qualifications.

In all fairness, some of these guys were recently retired 121 pilots. But, it still doesn't change the fact that CS looks for this level of experience to swell their ranks.

Just curious - why does your profile show 4800 hours and an ATP, when your posted question states that you have 1700 TT and only the ATP written?

I talked to a friend today that recieved a "thanks, but no thanks" letter from CS yesterday. They said he didn't have enough experience to even get an interview. Not sure of his total time, I would guess about 4000-4500. He is captain in a Lear 60.

Ilike..... If you're in aviation for the money I feel sorry for you. You are going to hate life chasing money. Get a job you really enjoy. Money will come in most careers if you really love your job, cause then you'll be good at it.

I personally know too many guys that left avaition many years down the road cause they hated it. They had been miserable for 10, 15, 20 years. That's not a way to live.

Good luck in your job hunt.

My momma told me to do that and I didn't listen.

That leaves only me to blame, cause momma tried.
