Hey again,
Can someone please tell me about:

Transafrik International
Trans Mediterranean Airways
Africa One
Kalitta Air
and Omni International

I'm looking for info. such as background of airline, current situation, management, pay, etc.

Also, even though I'm relatively low time, I was wondering if these carriers would be interested in American, especially if he would be willing to start out as an FE?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you dont want a life and you would like to spend what little time off you'll have liveing in a converted cargo container on the airport in Luanda, Transafric would be a great place. Some weirdos do like it there though. As for Kalitta Air, the teamsters are on the property and many crewmembers are still on the streets from the former Kittyhawk Int. Scumbags who declared chapter 11 two years ago. Connie is supposed to bring back the furloughed crewmembers from KHI before he can hire off the street! As for the other companies you mentioned, good luck, there all the same.

thanks

They're all the same?
Too bad.
I'm one of the few that's willing to go overseas. Just would like to be with a descent outfit. Can't stand being unemplyed. I feel like the biggest loser right now. No local flight schools or FBO are willing to give me a chance.
But anyways, thanks for the info.

OK I take it back!! I cant speak for Omni Air and I have met some of there crew's the past and it seems to be an OK place. Right now I would certainly take a job there if it were offered to me. I have however been to Africa many times and most recently to Angola and I have NO use for that place!!!!I lived and flew out of Nairobi during the Gulf War and really enjoyed it. During the past 20 years I've worked for many of the supplimental Carriers hauling freight and Pax and not one of them is still in buisiness. To top it off they are into me in excess of $60,000 USD in unpaid wages, etc..Maybe thats why I may seem a little hard nosed on the subject. I too would like another flying job so that I can retire in ten years with a shirt on my back but the ways things are going now its not to promising. If you want to work over seas try Parc Aviation or Rishworth. I can only wish you and all the other unemployed crewmembers Good Luck!! and Beware.:D

Try this www.aerolink.com. You will find Parc and a bunch more. I dont know about Omni but I'm sure you can find it on line. Good Luck !!;) :D

A friend of mine is a PFE with Omni. He likes it. He's based at home and they buy him a ticket to wherever his trip originates. He's been at other carriers and feels Omni treats him pretty well.

Hi!

I was in a CRM course with Kalitta guys in Jul. They are based at YIP (Willow Run) and they were hiring off-the-street FOs back in Jul, so it's worth a try. Some of them were former Kalitta guys, and none of them said anything bad about the carrier. They do have 747s and 727s, and, apparently, they bought Reliant's certificate so they may have other A/C.

good site to find out more...

go post your question to the forums on www.pprune.com

its a great site with a group of folks not unlike this place.

and if you posted your question on the african or european forums there I'm sure you would get an educated answer.

good luck

Omni is a good deal if you can get it. AMC carrier for the military they are expanding and getting more aircraft(DC-10's) To be honest though you have got to have 5000+ hours and have widebody experience before they will even talk to you.
