That's so strange - I've had the same dream where I was taking off from the street of my childhood home ... I have a super steep climbout and end up getting caught in wires before falling backwards to the ground. What is it about the wires? Freud would have a field day with this one.

The other one takes place in college near the end of the semester. I have apparently forgot about a class I was enrolled (usually math), and have to take a test that I know absolutely nothing about. I think these dreams are all pretty much the same dream, just a different setting. Truck drivers probably have dreams about jack-knifeng an 80' rig into an impossibly small area.

I have this one a lot too. Usually I get the feeling that I'm back in school and won't graduate unless I make this test/class. Also it seems like I haven't been to the class for awhile and have no idea how to pass the test.

My airplane dreams usually include a TBM700 or something like that and I'm flying it for the first time. I'm kind of wary but excited at the same time. Oh, and I'm completely crazy in the head too.

Wires. Always the wires. One set after another, and the terrain below is rising.

I think the wire thing is the most common pilot anxiety dream.

I remember a weird dream I had a few years ago.

I was sitting in the Dash at one of the TWA spots next to the hanger in LGA, getting ready to push back. As we pushed back, I looked back over my right shoulder just to check if it was clear in that direction. But the taxiway was under some kind of construction, with big backhoes and bulldozers and stuff. We got pushed right back into a backhoe, hitting it with the right wing. I saw fuel pouring out of the wing and said to the captain, "hey man, we are dumping fuel all over the place, I think we better bail". He said okay, but first he wanted to find a good place, so we start taxing all over the airport. He taxied into a hanger and said, "right here's good". So I start my evacuation stuff, but now the inside of the hanger is set up like a lobby for an FBO. As I jump out, the secretary at the FBO starts yelling at me "you can't do that here!". I ignore her, or she goes away (it was a pretty disjointed dream) and our people start coming out of the airplane. The plane was packed with all kinds of senior citizens, every one of them had a walker or wheelchair.

Pretty weird, but it seemed so crystal clear at the time. Even more weird, I can still remember every detail, years later. Usually my dreams are gone before I can get out of bed in the morning.

I have the same dream. If I have an aviation dream not work related, that is it. Taking off in a Baron or a Piper Cub, lightning around with rain reflecting of the strobes, visibility allows me to see the big towers holding the wires and once I out climb a set there is another set behind it. Can't remember whether I hit them or not, I usually wake up trying to figure out if its reality or not.
