i.e. is Part 135 Charter work a stepstone between flight instructing and Part 91/Part 121 work?

Or is it possible to make a living similar to a Part 91 experienced Captain? (more than 80 grand)

Do charter ops have large jets such as Gulfstreams, Global Express, 604s etc...

1. Yes, usually

2. Yes, at some places

3. Yes, at some places

Yes, you can find large jets at 135 Charter companies. Due to the lifestyle, most choose not to make a career out of it. However there are always exceptions, and its possible to find a good paying job, in a nice airplane, where you are treated well. These are probably very hard to come buy.

I for one would prefer to go on to a good corporate job or an airline.

Aircraft come in all sizes in all types of operations. I've seen an advertisement for a Part 135 pilot in Alaska for a C-172, and Jack Roucsh (Nascar Winston Cup Owner) has a B-727 operated under Part 91. That's pretty much one extreme to the other--anything could be anywhere.
